February, the month of love, is also my birthday month. That is why it is filled with all kinds of fun for YOU! HeartScape Intuitive Paintings are a creative and personalized Valentine's Gift for you or for someone you know.
During the month of February, I offer HeartScape Intuitive Paintings. Each HeartScape is quick & beautiful, and includes the intuitive insights I receive while I paint, thus providing added information and insight for the recipient.
The painting above is a HeartScape Intuitive Painting I did for my assistant, Rebecca Snow. Rebecca granted me permission to share it with you. The information that accompanied the painting will have more meaning for her than it will for you, but in part it reads as follows:
"Life unfolds in layers, like sediments. It is good to mine the layers to find what lies beneath. The treasure is always toward the bottom of the well.
Don't give up too soon - on anything!"
Valentine's Day Special
During the month of February, you can receive a personal five-inch HeartScape Intuitive Painting for yourself, or a friend, for $35.
The first 20 people to order are guaranteed to receive a scan of the painting on or before Valentine's Day, along with the words I receive for you. The Bright Side of Life
I am an eternal optimist. I relish being called a Pollyanna by those "less believing souls" around me.
I would so much rather believe things always turn out for the best than the alternative thought pattern: pessimism.
Some might say I'm forgetting about pragmatism; and they would be right. Pragmatism seems like pessimism touched lightly with optimism.
Don't get me wrong, I have been known to be pragmatic at times. It is just that optimism has been the hallmark of my creative career. Without optimism, I would not create. Optimism keeps me coming back to the page over and over again.
One must have courage to create (Rollo May wrote a book by that title). We must have faith in our process and our abilities. Whether or not the last painting, essay, sketch, or song was a success, the next one will be better.
We must face each blank page with a smile in our heart. And that is not possible if pessimism (or pragmatism) has already moved in and set up shop.
No worries if you are not feeling particularly optimistic. Optimism, like most patterns of thought, can be learned. You can cultivate your own optimistic outlook. It might take time, it surely takes practice, and it can be done.
First: make the decision to look for the silver lining; you will not find it if you do not look!
Second: start with something easy. If you already have an optimistic leaning in one area of your life or art, reinforce it. Optimism is like a muscle. The stronger it is in one area of your life, the easier it will be to use it else where.
Third: repeat steps one and two over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
What besides sadness and pessimism have you got to lose? Heck, optimists are known for being happy. Think of all you have to gain!
Being optimistic isn't always easy! But then, what is? If you want a world view that provides you with hope for the future, give it a try. You can always revert if you find it isn't your cup of tea.

Hide-N-Seek Watercolor Workshops
If you are looking for new ways to have fun with watercolor while exploring color, shape, and texture, this workshop is for you. You will learn how to use texture and paint to create dynamic, paintings filled with light and color.
These are very welcoming, cozy workshops, in private, relaxed settings near the beach. Attendance is quite limited. All levels welcome. This is not a figurative workshop; though this technique works great for all subject matter.
Our February workshop is FULL; more workshops are in the planning stage. We are currently accepting names for future events, and looking for more locations to host them. Please contact Patrice at 808-392-9104 or Patrice@ArtOfAloha.com; or Rebecca Snow (assistant) at 808-286-5909 for more information.
