FEATURED GUEST:

Renee A. Simon,
MS, CNS

Knowing what foods to eat and how to prepare them, so that they are both healthy and delicious, is an art that most people haven't mastered. We are pleased to welcome a local Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist to our market this week. Renee will be offering free 15-minute one-on-one nutritional or health assessments from 10-12 pm. Please feel free to ask her about any specific health or food related concerns you may have. When we give our body pure, nutritious food, get enough rest and exercise, breathe deeply, and fill our thoughts with positive messages, healing happens naturally. Although the time is short you can begin the life style changes now.

FEATURED VENDOR:

SARATOGA PEANUT BUTTER COMPANY, Owner: Jessica Arceri

Saratoga Peanut Butter Co

It all started in a small kitchen in 2005 in the heart of Historic Saratoga Springs. Jessica's well thought out plan was to design a Peanut Butter that would not only deliver a heart healthy punch, but would make the soul sing as well...mission accomplished! At Saratoga Peanut Butter, the nut butter blends are made in small, controlled batches to ensure high quality and freshness in every jar. Did I mention they are all gluten free and have no added sugars, preservatives or artificial additives. With unique blends infusing fresh peanuts with bananas & raisins, local maple syrup & honey, decadent dark chocolate & white chocolate to name a few, the handful of nuts over at the Saratoga Peanut Butter Co. are confident that they can put a huge smile on your face! So as the story goes...they started with nuts...and then went crazy!

WHAT'S AT MARKET:
CucumbersMany of you have asked for more produce. We are pleased to welcome Mimi Edelman of I & Me Farm of Mount Kisco to our market. Mimi was one of the visionaries who conceived this market and her passion and expertise helped put it together. Depending on what's in season, you will find a variety of organic herbs, greens & heirloom vegetables as well as fresh cut flowers. Gaia's Breath Farm of Jordanville will also be joining us this week. They will provide both certified organic vegetables & meats. You will find the rare Cincinnati Market heirloom radish (looks like a red carrot, but tastes like a delicious radish and is tender, crisp & mild) as well as heirloom bell type peppers. You will find fresh, pastured, broiler chickens & heritage breed, large black pork cuts at Gaia's Breath as well. Mobius Fields has added specialty zucchini to their offerings and at Amba Farms you will find beans, beets, radishes and cucumbers like the Marketmore, a great slicing, bitter-free cuke. Red Jacket Orchards has apricots this week! They are known for growing a wide variety of this luscious fruit with it's rich, musky aroma and sweet-tart taste. Kontulis Family returns this week with their kalamata olives, olive tapenade and their Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Pair that with Wave Hills ciabatta and it's a little bit of heaven!
