Ride Program Speeds Near 1k Kid Milestone
Volunteer in October and help connect the 1,000 youth to the great sport of cycling this year!

Ride Program Update:DCIS Student Fixing a bike
Around this time last year, we sat down and decided we needed to do better and reach event more children in Metro Denver who normally wouldn't have the opportunity to experience a positive, physically challenging mountain biking experience.  From 2007 to 2009, TFKD was coasting, completing about 100 rides with 700 novice riders each year.  As an organization we needed a challenging goal, a substantial stretch goal, to focus our efforts on achieving:

Reach 1,000 youth participants in 2010.

Well, with the addition of new TFK Boulder groups and resources this year, we're a whisker away from achieving this substantial, labor-of-love accomplishment.  I'm proud to report, year-to-date, TFKD/B has completed 109 rides with an astonishing 969 young people!

We will certainly surpass the 1,000 kid milestone in the next week or two and we couldn't have done it without you in TFK volunteer and supporter land!  Thank you!

Rob Sears, a notable figure in the history of TFKD, passed way in October of 2008. I wrote this article about Rob's contributions to the program last year and to mark the anniversary of his passing, I'd like to reminding everyone about "Rob Sears Remembered".

A warm thank you to the Sears Family for making contributions in Rob's memory to TFK the past two years.

Clif 2-Mile ChallengeSign-up  for the 2Mile Challenge and help TFKD/B secure valuable cash funding!

TFK National is competing against two other bike oriented non-profit for a $25k grant from Clif Bar.  Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder will have the opportunity to submit a proposal to TFK National to receive a portion of these funds.

The Challenge has been going on for a few months and TFK has been in 1st place the entire time with a comfortable 10% point cushion over the 2nd place team.  The 2nd place team has been mounting a charge over the last few weeks and cut the lead to about 5% of total points. Help!
