TFKD/B Welcomes
Phillip Marino to the team!

Casey Middle School Welcomes Phillip!
Thanks, in part, to funding from the recent $15k REI Grant, we hired a new Ride Leader to help us connect more underserved youth than even to cycling and the outdoors.

Phillip has vast experience in the cycling world and, as we're discovering during our initial training rides, Phil is a natural working with youngsters.

How was the Ride?

If you've volunteered with us in the past year, please take a few minutes to provide us with feedback about your volunteer experience.

We use your constructive criticism to improve the program experience for volunteers and youth participants.  Your thoughtful remarks and ride stories are essential for communicating the benefits of our program to potential supporters and the next wave of volunteers.

Bike Club Details:
We're excited to be working with a new Bike Club program partner, The Denver School of Science & Technology, teaching bike maintenance skills to 11th and 12th grade students during the school day on Tuesdays and Fridays.

We're also continuing our longstanding partnership with The Denver School of International Studies to provide the after school version of "Bike Club" to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students again this fall.  Were still figuring out the day of the week we'll be working with DCIS.

TFK Boulder will be supporting after school bike clubs at Casey on Thursdays and, likely, Centennial Middle (day tbd) Schools this fall. The TFKB version of "Bike Club" is focused on getting the kids out riding and will also include Cross racing skills sessions and fun, practice races in partnership with the Boulder Middle Cross program. The final Middle Cross Bike Fest event and race with all participating schools is planed for November 11th.

Help TFK Win a $25K Grant from Clif Bar!
Clif 2-Mile Challenge
I've mentioned the Clif 2-Mile Challenge in previous TFK newsletters, but I just wanted to ask for everyone again to sign-up and help TFKD/B secure valuable cash funding!

TFK National is competing against two other bike oriented non-profit for a $25k grant from Clif Bar.  Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder will have the opportunity to submit a proposal to TFK National to receive a portion of these funds.

The Challenge has been going on for a few months and TFK has been in 1st place the entire time with a comfortable 10% point cushion over the 2nd place team.  The 2nd place team has been mounting a charge over the last few weeks and cut the lead to about 5% of total points. Help!

Please sign-up here: http://2milechallenge.com
