We goofed and forgot to put a Ride the Rockies registration out on the auction table at the TFKB Launch Event.

This iconic Colorado cycling event, June 13-19, is sold out, but you can still join this 532 mile epic, scenic tour and help support TFK.

The fee also includes: camping space and showers, transportation of one bag during the tour, shuttle services, entertainment in host towns, aid stations, bike techs, sag vehicles, medical support on the route, a RTR jersey, water bottle and a tour map book.

This entry is available on a first come first serve basis to TFK Volunteers and Supporters.  Please contact Andrew Goodwillie, if you would like to purchase this Ride the Rockies entry.

Greetings!

The heart and soul of TFKD/B is providing underserved children with a fun and limit testing mountain biking experience.  This newsletter and other recent editions have shown increasing attention to special events.  While these events will always be a activity secondary to providing children with fun, safe, quality cycling-based programs, they are necessary to providing the resources to keep the kids rolling.  Thank you for supporting TFK events and for volunteering your time and energy with the children we serve!

Even with our prime time ride season is still more than a month away, we have already completed 18 rides with more than 160 young people!

Join a ride or attend an event and help TFKD/B involve more than 1,000 children in our health and confidence building cycling based programs this year!

Best,
Andrew Goodwillie

TFK B Launch Track Race

Thanks to all our 120+ guests who made the TFK Boulder Launch Party a huge, fun, successful celebration of spring and cycling!

I must sincerely thank:

  • Boulder Indoor Cycling for providing a perfect venue for the event
  • RipStoke for a fantastic show of biking ability beyond my comprehension
  • Reggie Rivers for emceeing the event
  • Our army of volunteers (REI rocks!)
  • VitaminWater & Avery Beer for beverage support
  • Nate and Heather Desarro for providing their professional photography services (photo above)
  • And the fun-loving Casey Middle School Bike Club crew and their fearless leader, Catherine Powers, for racing their hearts out on the track.
The event was a successful fundraiser due to the generous support of Pearl Izumi, Sports Garage, Primal, REI and many other businesses and individuals who contributed a multitude of excellent items. See a full list below.
Adult Supporter & Volunteer Ride: May 20
Volunteer and youth riderDo you have an interest in becoming a ride volunteer or certified ride leader but have questions about what's involved or just want to meet our staff and other TFK volunteers?

Join us on Thursday, May 20th at 6 p.m. at Bear Creek Lake Park for an evening adult volunteer/supporter ride and BBQ.  We're planning a quick volunteer orientation and then we'll head out for an hour-long lap of the park's underrated trail system.  All TFK volunteers and friends of the program are welcome to join the ride and post-pedaling festivities!

Burgers, grilled meats, and sides will be served post ride. Bring your own beverages. Exact meeting location: TBD.

We're looking for a few volunteers willing to grill and prep the meal while the ride posse works up an appetite.

Contact Andy Brannon with questions or to RSVP: abrannon@tripsforkidsdenver.org or 303-919-4259
