The University of Kansas Looking for Biomechanical Design Projects
KU is looking for ideas and sponsors for engineering design projects. This is not just theoretical design, students are required to produce a physical prototype for their project/sponsor.
General example catagories are assistive devices for those with disabilities (especially to improve workplace potential), equipment to aid in rehabilitation after injury or other pathology (like stroke), or ergonomic design (especially to reduce workplace hazards or overuse syndomes). The goal is that project options be presented to the student teams in late-August, as Fall classes begin and that team assignments will be made early in September.
If you have any project ideas that have a biomechanics component, email Ken Fisher.
