Fun for All: Tortilla Snowflakes
|
Warm flour tortillas for 15 seconds in the microwave. Fold the tortillas in half once and then in half again, so you create a pie wedge shape. Using clean scissors, cut as you would paper snowflakes. Unfold tortillas. Brush with oil or spray with butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar or shredded mozzarella cheese. Another option is to sprinkle them with powdered sugar after baking. Bake until just warm and slightly crisp (about 4 minutes at 250 degrees).

The first step is to start thinking beyond the mouse and keyboard. By using your curriculum as a template, it is easy to spot the experiences that support such common skills as language, social learning, logic and creativity. In addition to the mouse-driven interface, new technologies might include a toy that talks or responds to a child's touch, or an electronic storybook or pen-like stylus that can read a word with a tap, in a choice of languages. The Impact of a child with a disability on your marriage: Things You Can Do to Strengthen Your Marriage
|
- Talk openly about problems and issues when they occur.
- Allow friends and family to provide extra support, or seek professional help before your marriage is in jeopardy.
- Take time to pursue the things that renew you as individuals.
- Celebrate each milestone.
- Together, learn all you can about your child's disability.
- Remember to take care of your relationship. Make time for the two of you to be alone everyday - even if it is a walk around the block. Some time away together is important also.
