Autism Waiver Funding at Risk |
Currently the Kansas Autism Waiver only has funding for 45 children. There are over 250 children on the waiting list. Sadly, many of these children will "age out" of eligibility before receiving services. more information |

KU Assessment of Family Engagement in Assistive Technology Considerations |
You are invited to participate in an important study that seeks to better understand how families are engaged in the process to identify and implement assistive technology in the lives of their student. How to have a Production IEP Meeting |
This is not a comprehensive list. I'm not a teacher, although I do have a teaching degree. The advice I give is based on my experience as a parent, having two children (ages 4 and 14) who have IEPs and the dozens of IEP meetings I have prepared for and attended. Over the years I've made plenty of mistakes, but through them learned a lot. I now go into IEP meetings with much more confidence and competence and with far less fear than I did going in to the first one.
