Math Resource |
Families Together Inc. is a partner in the Technical Assistance System Network (TASN).
TASN is a coordinated system of technical assistance (TA) that is designed to improve Kansas special education data. The goal is to effectively support districts to improve student outcomes. As part of TASN, Families Together, Inc. is doing research to find resources that will be helpful to students and their parents. We need your help in doing this. We have found many web sites that provide assistance in math and reading, but we need to know if these web sites are really helpful. We would like for your child and family to try the web site listed below out and then send feedback to teresa@familiestogetherinc.org and let us know what you think. Your input is very vital to this project. Thanks! www.math.com |

10 Strategies to Fight Mandatory Retention |
Schools often use a "wait to fail" approach to retain students who cannot read, blaming the problem on "immaturity."
The school's solution to this problem is to retain a child while they continue to do the same thing with him, waiting for a different outcome.
If your child could have learned to read with the type and level of instruction he is currently receiving, he would have already learned to read. How will retention help? wrightslaw
