| February 27, 2012 |
Greetings!
Have you attended a meeting that wasn't well planned or run by an effective leader? They can be painful can't they? Here are a few tips that will help you be a great meeting participant and contribute in a positive way:
- Be prepared! If there is a topic that you are to speak to at the meeting be sure you have done your homework, made a few notes and are ready when you are called upon.
- If you find yourself involved in an unplanned or impromptu meeting, always suggest that a meeting leader be appointed to keep the meeting on track. Without a leader at a meeting, it is nearly impossible to achieve anything.
- During the meeting, job down notes or action steps that apply to you or to someone you are to pass them along to.
- If you're running late for a meeting, call and inform the necessary people. Their time is valuable too!
