Election
 Information for November 6

Vote 411 is a new tool the League of Women Voters provides to help people register to vote, and offers information on voting requirements and state deadlines.  The Vote 411  tool allows voters to build an online voter's guide, view political races, compare candidate positions side-by-side and print out "ballots" that can be used to remind the public to vote on Election Day. The tool also provides visitors with helpful voting information, candidate statements and details on current issues.

According to NJ State Law, our library has voter registration forms for the public.

Banned Books and Presidential Memorabilia Displays  Here in October

The American Library Association highlights books every year in Sept. that have been challenged for removal from American libraries. Claire Stairiker, the library's Circulation Manager, has placed a display of books challenged over the past year, which will run through Oct. 5. Some of these books are: the Fifty Shades of Grey  Trilogy by E. L. James;  Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins; and The Absolutely True Story of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie.

Libraries continue to serve as repositories of books and other collections from a wide variety of points of view, reflecting the diversity of our democracy and the world.

Joe Murphy, a former Haddonfield Citizen of the Year, will place a display on American Presidential Campaign Memorabilia from past elections and campaigns. Joe has a remarkable collection of buttons, signs, clothing and more of US elections. This display will be here from Oct. 7 through the end of the month.

Stop in during Oct.   to see these interesting exhibits and to celebrate our freedom.

Snapshot Day is October 24!

Snapshot Day will be held on October 24. Snapshot Day was created a few years ago to show a day in the life of NJ libraries of all types. Libraries take pictures of people and the activities on the designated day. These photos are then posted to a statewide site to show the many ways that people use libraries to improve the quality of life.

This year our library will hold 2 special events on Snapshot Day. Barnes and Noble will be on hand from 1-2 pm to demonstrate the new NOOK HD tablet for reading, surfing the Internet, viewing movies, and more. Everyone who is interested in checking out this tablet will have the opportunity to see how it works and to try it. Call 429-1304 to register for this free demonstration.

The TAB will hold a Halloween Craft night from 6:30 - 7:30 pm when teens will make a Jar O Lantern. Have fun and make a keepsake for Halloween. The library will provide materials. Call 429-1304 to register for this free program.
