Featured Health Online Resources to help you live a healthier life
This month we are showcasing two of the health databases that are available from our website with your library card. If you need an overview of a procedure, disease, drug, or research on a condition, visit Health Source: Consumer Edition and the Facts on File Health Reference Center. These 2 databases have authoritative research from a variety of sources. A brief seach of questions that the library recently received on colonoscopy, Autism, and the drug lexapro, gave a wealth of information. You can research health issues that your family may face in the comfort of your home. You will need to put in the library barcode 14 numbers on your library card to gain access. The Facts on File source has many videos as well as pictures and written text. Sources include the Harvard Health Review and thousands of other medical journals and books. These sources are for consumers and are highly readable and easy to understand. This helps you to prepare questions for your physicians. These resources come from cooperative services of the NJ Library network and are not available for free on the Internet. Our librarians are available and willing to guide your research. Send an email to reference@haddonfieldlibrary.org , visit us or call 429-1304. |
