Greetings!                                        Snowman
It's December and that means spending time with your family and friends during the holidays. Everyone at the library wishes you and your family happy, healthy holidays, as well as best wishes for the New Year.
Our big news is that our new website is going live on December 1. We hope that it will be easier to navigate, have richer content, and be a resource for you 24/7. Please give us your feedback so we can continue to improve it.
The Haddonfield Holiday Tour will be held on Dec. 10. This year it benefits the Haddonfield Friends of the Library. See details below of the six lovely homes you can see while helping the Friends at the same time!

  • New website New Library Website Goes Live December 1!

The library has a new website! The newly designed website will go live on Dec. 1.  We did a survey last summer to gather customer feedback. Many of the suggestions have been incorporated to make the website more organized, easier to navigate, and aesthetically pleasing. There is much more content about what is available at the library and how to use it. Click here to visit the site. Our thanks to Raphael Webscapes for designing the site. Our staff, especially Jo-Ann Pure, Pam Alles, and Jeannie Reinking, were very helpful in implementing the new site. Good surfing to you!  Please bear with us while we iron out the kinks and links. And send us your feedback by emailing: contact@haddonfieldlibrary.org

Library Receives Grant from South Jersey Charitable Foundation

It is with great pleasure that Ann Kearney, President of the Board of Trustees of the Haddonfield Public Library, announces that the library is the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the South Jersey Charitable Foundation. The grant was awarded to the library for its contributions to improving the education and quality of life to the Haddonfield community. Kearney said, "We are very thrilled to receive this grant and vote of confidence from the South Jersey Charitable Foundation. The Library Board is very grateful for this funding."  It will be used to improve the library's web site and portal for 24/7 access to the virtual library for the community.
Haddonfield Holiday tour Plan to attend the Haddonfield Holiday House tour on December 10!
As reported last month, the Holiday House Tour will be held on December 10, at six lovely homes in town. Click here to read about the homes you can see.  This year the Haddonfield Friends of the Library will be the recipients of the ticket sales. They will continue improvements in the teen area with new furnishings and collections.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the tour and are available at the Haddonfield Information Center, 2 Kings Court, in Haddonfield. Deborah Marchand Library Board has Two New Members, Mary Eklund and Deborah Marchand

The Library Board of Trustees, the body that makes policy and governs the library, has two new members. They are: Deborah Marchand and Mary Eklund. Both are active library users. They want to work on developing and marketing the library's services and programs. Deborah has been a resident for five years and is the parent of three children. Mary Eklund, a long term resident and parent, is a Master Gardener and has given programs as part of the library's adult cultural programming. Both look forward to working towards a better library for all Haddonfield residents and businesses.  (Pictured is Deborah Marchand)
JerseyCat Library's Interlibrary Loan Service is now Self Service with option for the library to place requests

Interlibrary loan is a service that allows libraries to borrow from other libraries and to loan to other libraries for items that they do not own. Our library handles thousands of items each year to satisfy our borrowers. The network is called JerseyCat. Library users may now put in their own requests for materials that the library does not own. Click here  for information and the form to place your own request for a loan. The site is easily found on the library's website. For more information, contact Jeanne Mugler at 429-1304 or email her at ill@haddonfieldlibrary.org
