 We, at the Haddonfield Public Library, want to wish you and your family a healthy and happy year ahead. In this issue you will see information about the library that we hope will help you to use it successfully throughout the year. Library Hours of Operation and Schedule 
 
The library continues on its winter schedule, as set by the Library Board of Trustees. The library is open from Monday- Friday 10 am to 9 pm
                                                 Saturday 10 am to 5 pm
                                                 Sunday 1 to 5 pm
 
From July 1- Labor Day library hours are:
                                               Monday - Thursday 10 am to 9 pm
                                               Friday and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm
                                               Sunday - closed
 
The library is open on most days except: Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th holiday, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
  Check the calendar of events on our website at www.haddonfieldlibrary.org for complete schedules and events, including Teen Movie Nights, featured programs, Spanish story times, and computer classes.
 
Featured Family Program celebrating Haddy at Lisa Suhay Book Signing and Talk on Jan. 14haddy cover
 
Lisa Suhay, the author of "Haddy the Doorstopasaurus"  will give a book talk and sign copies of the book at a program on Jan. 14, at 7 pm in the Borough Hall auditorium. The program is sponsored by the Committee Celebrating Haddy's 150th anniversary and the Haddonfield Library. Ms. Suhay, a former New York Times New Jersey columnist, will talk about how she came to know about Haddy. Books will be for sale at the event. There will be no snow date as Ms. Suhay has to travel back to her home in Virginia. To register for this free program, call the library at 856-429-1304. 
 
TV-GoogleGet Ready for Digital TV
 
Preparation guide for "Feb. 17, 2009, [when] all television stations will stop sending out program signals on their analog channels." It notes that if "you already have a digital TV or you have cable or satellite service, you most likely don't need to do anything," and provides resources for those with analog sets and no cable/satellite service. Try Downloadable Audios and Videos on Your New Holiday Gifts
 Audio I-Pod
Try downloading audiobooks to your new MP3 or I-Pod player from  www.haddonfieldlibrary.org     The library subscribes to more than 2,200  audiobooks that can be downloaded to your new devices. Click on the icon for information on how to do this and a listing of titles.
Additionally, download audiobooks or videos to your new PC from My Library DVD  It's easy and only takes a few minutes. Visit your favorite destinations with Rick Steve's travel videos and 700 more
titles of interest!   Better yet, stop in for a demonstration of how to use the services!
                   
 
 
book saleBurger's Library Service Program Available on January 6
 If you have been following the library building project, you will want to take a look at the report done by the Burgers, which will be available on the library and Borough websites about Jan. 6. This document outlines the spaces and functions that are recommended for a larger library to accommodate contemporary library services for the community. A public meeting to present the document will be scheduled in February. Watch our website for more information.

The library has a fine assortment of materials on the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. Both the adult and children's collections have many books and some DVDs on his life and historical influence. You can check our online catalog at the link below, place a reserve, or just come in and browse our shelves to find out more about this great American leader.
