REV. BRENDA RETURNS; DEEP DISH DIVAS TO PERFORM

Please join us in welcoming Rev. brenda back to the pulpit this Sunday at 10 a.m. She will be returning from her sabbatical with a talk entitled "Miles and Miles of God." Guest musicians will be Deep Dish Divas. This acoustic trio has been dishin' up an eclectic mix of vintage novelties, folk, swing, and traditional music since 2009, when they first performed at Unity. They've prepared a pretty instrumental piece, and will sing one or two fun light-hearted songs from the 40's.

FEEDING THE POOR MEETING, SEPT. 9

At the July Quarterly Meeting, several congregants expressed interest about how UnityCR can help address the food needs in our community. To move this idea forward, a meeting has been set for Sunday, Sept. 9, to discuss feeding the poor and hungry. Plan to meet after the service at 11:30 a.m. for one hour..

UNITY WORLD DAY OF PRAYER, SEPT. 13

Remember that UnityCR will be observing the World Day of Prayer on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Swanson Chapel. To learn more about this event from Unity's perspective, see the video below by Rev. Lynne Brown.

CIRCULATION DAYS TO BE HELD SEPT 17-18

The Outreach Ministry is arranging a Circulation Days Event on September 17-18. Please bring clean, usable clothing, including men's, women's, and children's, plus toys and household goods to Unity on Sunday, September 16. The Outreach Ministry will arrange tables with labels in the Community Room before church. After service, please bring your donations into the Community Room and put them on the designated tables. Donated items will be available to the public on Monday 9:00-4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 9:00-12 noon. Thank you all!

CHAKRA CLEARNG YOGA CLASS STARTS SOON

Cindy Hathaway will be offering a Chakra Clearing Yoga Class from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday nights starting Tuesday, Sept. 18 and running through October 6. The cost is $50 for all 8 classes to be paid at the beginning.This class will be held in the Swanson Chapel and if you have further questions you may contact Cindy at 319-431-6597.

UNITY 101 STARTS SEPT. 23

Unity 101 is coming around again! We'll start September 23 and continue for the next three Sundays, 9/30, 10/7 and 10/14. We will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Strong Room. Unity 101 is an opportunity to meet new folks, learn a bit about Unity teachings, and get a better understanding of the structure of UnityCR and Unity Worldwide Ministries. It is also an opportunity for prospective members to prepare for membership. If you wish to join UnityCR, attendance at all four classes is required. BREAST CANCER WALK, OCT. 7

UnityCR will have a team in the "Especially For You" walk against breast cancer on Oct. 7. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer, and the cost is $20 per walker. If we get a team of 15 walkers, we will be able to have UnityCR and our logo put on the back of our official "Especially For You" T-shirts. See Cory Matejka if you have questions.
