COMMUNITY MEETING AFTER SUNDAY SERVICE

Please join us for our first-quarter commUnity meeting in the commUnity room immediately following this Sunday's service. Bring your comments and questions!

FROM OUR MINISTER

ON JUNE 1, I begin my fourth year

rev brenda
rev brenda ehret

as Senior Minister at UnityCR. It is breathtaking to become aware of how time has literally flown through us as a spiritual commUnity!

As we reflect on the past three years, we can find much progress. We can also find areas where we've had little movement, and we can certainly find things we haven't even begun to work on yet. "All in good time, all in good time. Be here now".... My continual mantras!

I was three weeks into my job when we experienced the historic floods. As I write, we are one month out from the extraordinary events in Japan. Life inevitably brings us much to live through, experience as suffering, grow spiritually from, as well as much to celebrate.

We have just completed our Easter season -- a time of glory, commUnity, betrayal, unjust trials, nonresistance, crucifixion, tomb time and the rising up. Easter is truly the story of our lives.

At UCR, we always have a plethora of opportunities through which to share the wonder and joy of God's love. Find out how you can best connect to UCR by checking out our newly updated UCR website (unitycr.org) and our always-changing Facebook page. We're here for YOU!

FROM OUR PRESIDENT

The Board of Trustees had a successful spring retreat again this year. "Bring it" was our theme.  We celebrated what each board member personally brings to the leadership circle. Our visioning process was around the idea of bringing UnityCR to the next level of greatness. We recognized all the activity and talent that creates our spiritual center.

In the coming months, congregants will be invited to explore how we define ourselves as a group (our attitudes and beliefs) and our vision that "UCR is an expanding, thriving community of engaged people sharing a passion for spiritual growth". As each of us is part of the whole, we invite everyone to participate in evolving the consciousness of our center. We do this by creating and holding a common vision and recognizing opportunities to:

·       Attract: Bring the CommUnity to UCR

·       Engage: Activate and connect the CommUnity, and

·       Strengthen: Reinforce the foundation and build upon it.

We are truly blessed and grateful for the great mind, heart and spirit that each of you brings!

FROM OUR PROSPERITY CHAIR

Your Board of Trustees has been has been monitoring the progress of our prosperity plan and I am pleased

Jim Healy

Jim Healy

to report that the plan was fully funded for the first quarter. I feel we have taken an important first step toward being ready to respond to challenges and opportunities in a timely manner while living the sacred vision we share. This is only possible because you have committed to building a sound financial base for UnityCR. We celebrate you!

If you are not yet participating in our Auto-Tithe program, please ask a board member how it works. Sign-up is a very simple process. You benefit by the ease of the process and UnityCR benefits by stabilizing our cash flow-even when you are not able to attend Sunday services.

As always, your board of trustees invites your questions and thoughts on all issues regarding UnityCR and its operations. The monthly financial statements and board minutes are always available to you. Please see Kip in the office if you are interested in reviewing them.

I look forward to updating you on our current financial status at the Quarterly CommUnity Meeting after Sunday service on May 1. Thank you for your continual support of UCR!
