Greetings!

McLuhan
"Marshall McLuhan sees modern man as the relic of the logical linear, "hot" culture of movable type. Stunned by his encounter with the "cool" world of mass communication, man has struggled for equilibrium--and the result has been apathy, anxiety and alienation." - From the Jacket of "Understanding Media", 1964

Since McLuhan's time, we have experienced another wrenching reversal, leaving behind the comforts of fullspread newsprint, as we become mesmerized by the great sucking maelstrom that is cyberspace. (I'm not sure that my Auntie Caroline would approve of my diction, but hey, this is the Internet!)

Let's keep trying to bring good stuff onto the Internet - or at least provide some lifejackets.

Sincerely,

Mark

April Letter From Cornelius Pietzner
Cornelius Pietzner
Dear Members,
Turning the clocks forward one hour at the end of March is a reliable sign that spring is determined to (also) come to Dornach, despite unseasonable weather! And with it comes a flurry of preparatory activity that includes the Annual General Meeting and Festival, the meetings with General Secretaries and Country Representatives, the International Treasurer's Meeting, and the premiere of the 2nd Mystery Drama, "The Soul's Probation"...There are large and small events also taking place, such as the very recent Conference on Owen Barfield (in English) as a representative and worthy articulator of the Consciousness Soul.    Read more...

HUGUETTE BIGRAS-CHAURETTE
15 septembre, 1922 - 19 fevrier, 2009

Is not the meaning of mankind
Writ on the walls of the heart?
Writ there in luminous writing
Causing the spirit to start?

HUGUETTE BIGRAS-CHAURETTE
September 15, 1922 - February 19, 2009
Once upon a time there was a good king who had a son and two daughters by a first marriage. In honor of the birth of a third princess, the only offspring of his second marriage, the king gave a magnificent feast. The three good fairies of the kingdom arrived and stood lovingly around the cradle. The first fairy gave the infant a heart as pure as gold, the second offered her a will as strong as stone, and the third bestowed upon her thinking and speech clear as crystal. The fourth fairy, the one who, though never invited, always manages to find her way in, bent over the cradle and...Read more
