The Future Sensitivity of the Human Race

Words of Wisdom from Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji

Beads of Truth, March 1974 #22

Two people talkingConsciousness is born; it's a totality.  And from totality, any creativity is a part of the totality. If you deeply understand that effectiveness of existence, then you also understand what reality is. If you are conscious, as a woman, your beauty cannot be explained in words. If you are conscious as a male, your beauty cannot be explained in words. If you are conscious as a human being, your beauty cannot be explained in words. And if you are conscious that you are a living being, your beauty cannot be explained in words.

I am speaking now of individual expressions. Because in one way you represent a section of your many faceted personality; in another way, you represent a basic reality; in a third way, you  expand yourself to the very life principle of you; and finally, you have total reverence for any life you can relate to. When you have got reverence for life, and life has got reverence for you, what you put in, you get back. In your own consciousness, are you conscious that your basic existence in life is a beauty? And in relationship to all life, when you can relate to it as dearly as you relate to your life, it is a conscious act.

Some people feel it is okay to kill a mosquito. It's a tiny little thing; it can create malaria; it can make you sick. Sometimes, you feel it is your obligation to do it. But can you create malaria? That little thing of malaria? You cannot even create it with plastic. It's pretty difficult; it's an artist's job. You can't create a mosquito, but you are ready to kill it.

In terms of the life principle, you both are at the same level. You are mighty. They are tiny. He represents fear to you, fear of your future death. Therefore, you give him death. The same way, there may be a rattlesnake which may bite you twenty times and may not give you a little poison at all. But the moment you feel a snake, what do you want to do with it? Kill it. Have you ever thought that what makes you kill is not the life in the thing? But it is the fear of death in you? You kill a mosquito because that represents fear of death to you. You kill that snake because that bite represents death to you. Whether the guy has done it, or has not done it, has got nothing to do with it.

You perform a lot of activities out of sheer fear. A lot of actions in human behavior are only the outcome of fear, and the beauty of consciousness is that the fear you put into actions is just what you don't want to happen to you.

Honoring Guru Ram Das's Birthday
October 9

In the month of October, we remember the birth of the 4th Sikh Master, Guru Ram Das who is called the Lord of Miracles. Guru Ram Das founded the city of Amritsar, and began the construction for the Harimandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple. He taught and served people with strength, grace, love and tremendous humility.

The Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan, had a very special connection with Guru Ram Das and always said that his mission of bringing Kundalini Yoga and Sikh Dharma to the west was Guru Ram Das's miracle.

The Siri Singh Shaib passed away seven years ago on October 6th. It was no surprise that he chose the season of Guru Ram Das's birth as the moment to return to the subtle realms.

Hail, Hail Guru Ram Das and Heal the World

Words of Wisdom from Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji

Guru Ram Das
Guru Ram Das
Today, we have assembled to celebrate the Divine Essence of Guru Ram Das. Not only are we blessed that we have walked on this path, but we are blessed that we have realized it as human beings. I am not talking about politics. I am not talking about virtues. I am not talking about those who have every possession in the world, yet they are very empty inside. I am not talking about those personal people who think they have reached God, and God is in the palm of their hands. I am not talking of those who sell God and I am not talking of those who compromise spirituality because of the pressure. I am talking about the essence of that dignity and divinity which Guru Ram Das represents.

I was talking to somebody on the telephone today. She said, "I brought a dish and a wish on the day of Guru Ram Das's birthday. My wish didn't happen. Should I bring the dish and wish again today?"  I said, "It did happen." She asked, "How do you know? You don't know the wish of anybody. You don't know what dish I took there."

I said, "There's nothing to worry about. You took a few pizzas and put them before Guru Ram Das. And you wished that your boyfriend would come through. In seven days, he totally left you."

She said, "How do you know?"

I said, "No - you have questioned it. Now I have to tell you. It is not a question. If you had not asked, I might have let it pass. But now you have challenged the status. Therefore I have to tell you, the status is true.

"You brought a few pizzas and you came on that day. You wished your boyfriend would come through. Is that true or not? First, tell me that." She said, "Yes, that's true." "Then, within one week he left. He said goodbye to you forever." She said, "That's true, too."

I said, "Now tell me, are you lucky or unlucky?" She said, "I am lucky."

I said, "Look. Guru worked. Now you want the Guru to work YOUR way. That is not the problem. That is not the question. You asked the Guru a question. 'Fulfill my wish.' How can he fulfill it in a wrong way? He filled it perfectly. And you can never be sorry for it."

Celebrating the Birth of Guru Ram Das

Tune in for the Special Sadhana on October 9th

Starting at 4am Mountain Standard Time

from MrSikhNet blog by Gurumustuk Singh Khalsa

Espanola GurdwaraEvery fall, we have the blessing of celebrating Guru Ram Das Ji's birthday. Guru Ram Das was the fourth Sikh Guru, and was known for his humility, service and deep devotion. He founded the city of Amritsar and designed the Golden Temple. There are 688 shabads of Guru Ram Das included in theSiri Guru Granth Sahib and he wrote the Lavan (the Sikh marriage vows), as well as parts of Rehiras and Kirtan Sohila.

Guru Ram Das held a special place in the heart of the Siri Singh Sahib, and our local community looks to Guru Ram Das for guidance, for healing, and for protection. Many of our ashrams & Gurdwaras were named in his honor. The Siri Singh Sahib started a beautiful special sadhana to do in celebration of Guru Ram Das's birthday.  For 11 days prior to his Guru Ram Das Ji's birthday we chant the shabad "Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru" for 31 minutes. This is the Shabad of Miracles.  In many communities, Gurdwaras, ashram members, students and friends gather together to chant this shabad with devotion and faith, during the 11 days leading up to his birthday.

Then, on October 9th, the day of Guru Ram Das Ji's birth, we have a special sadhana of chanting the shabad Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru for 2 hours in the Amrit Vela. What a special time. (You can tune into the event LIVE on Oct 9th starting at 4am.)
