As Spring and new growth blossom here in Virginia, I am hearing the call to share more of what I am experiencing on a daily basis. Many people have been asking me to post what new books, articles, or audio programs I have found most valuable.

On May 2nd, I started a year of daily blog postings to share with all of you. I also value your responses, so please keep me informed in return.

Greetings!

One of my colleagues recently said, "I need to be clear about where I commit my generative energy." She was referring to that life force we all have, expressed uniquely through each of us. Her comment really started me thinking about my own energy and focus and commitment. An additional cascade of events this winter and spring have helped me hone in on my commitment to what is mine. Each day I ask the question, "Is this mine to do? And if it is, what do I need to do to free up my time for it?"

At this point in my life, it is paramount that I say "no" - a firm and certain "no" - to what is not mine to do. I am letting go of all the things that can be done by others, so that I have what I need in order to do what is truly mine to do today. Letting go so that my gifts can be given and my talents utilized, so that I am not scattered and depleted by doing too much peripheral stuff in my life.

As I write this I notice that I feel nervous about declaring this. It feels as though it goes against the unspoken code - the default stance of every good mother-kind person that says I will be available to help anyone in need, how in every circumstance in life I must be helpful. My cousin Karen has gently called me "hopelessly helpful" when I really get going with this default stance.

Yet, I know I must. Perhaps it's about being in my fifth decade and actually knowing quite clearly what my major skills and talents are. It might be that I am becoming more aware of the limits of my time and energy which felt much more boundless when I was younger. It could have to do with having the awareness and inner strength to break free from the unconscious default patterns that ran much of my early years.

So what is mine to do?

One clear mandate is to share more of what is unique to me as a CranioSacral therapist, a mother, a teacher, and a writer. To that end I am committing to posting a blog every day. Please check out this link and sign up to receive it if it speaks to you. My energy level has surged since I wrote my first post last week so I know it is right for me. And the creative ideas are bubbling up like a deep spring.

Next is supporting the HFC graduates around the country by creating a quarterly newsletter with information about available connection points for them - local study groups, advanced level workshops and money saving programs to support them. So if you are a graduate of one of our Healing From the Core programs you should have received the first special newsletter last week. If it has not arrived in your Inbox, please email us and update your information so we can include you.

Next is spending time at Esalen Institute, in the beauty of Big Sur, CA every summer and providing a series of workshops ranging from women's empowerment and healing to my only residential version of the Grounding and Healthy Boundaries workshop. Click here for more information and to join me there.

My last commitment is to those who have read Full Body Presence and you want more - more skills, more information, more community. Our brand new weekend workshop for the general public, Full Body Presence: Skills to Energize Your Life that we piloted last month was a huge success. We have others planned later this year - here is the link to the next one here in the Washington, D.C. area in the fall.

In all of these commitments I aim to utilize my gifts in the best way possible. So come and join me or one of my circles.

I'll close by turning my question to each of you.

Are you clear about what you want to commit to in your life, and do you have the guts to say "no" to all else?

And, Enjoy!

Warmest Regards,

Because, in today's world we all need full access to our inner and outer resources, in order to survive and thrive with the daily demands being presented to us. This course teaches the process of allowing the deep wisdom of the body to inform and help us navigate in our living, working, healing and relating in the world. Coming to respect and listen to this body wisdom as the ground of our knowing helps us rediscover our innate spirituality and to develop our emotional intelligence.
