The Tooth Fairy
As a primer for Children's Dental Health month, First 5 LA has been fortunate to partner with 12 Los Angeles County Regal Theaters for the release of the new movie, The Tooth Fairy, starring "The Rock," to promote good oral health for children. Capitalizing on the message that children's teeth are important, First 5 LA tooth brushes were passed out at the movie's screenings to any child under 5 years-old along with a tip sheet for parents on how to encourage good oral health habits in children right from the start. First 5 LA staff also participated in the Family Fun Day at Regal L.A. Live Stadium 14 to help kick off the opening of The Tooth Fairy. Attendees received a Tooth Fairy poster, in addition to the First 5 LA promotional materials. Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks, Bailey from the Los Angeles Kings, and Red Robin of Red Robin Gourmet Burgers all made an appearance. The Clippers Dance Team was also there signing autographs and greeting families. As a result of the partnership, we distributed 50 free tickets to see the movie to participants of First 5 LA's parent-centered Ready. Set. Grow! program. An e-blast was sent letting families know the tickets were available and, within five minutes, all tickets were gone! I would like to thank Regal Theaters for working with us on this promotion and hope the partnership has helped inform L.A. County families about important oral health resources.
