Sid the Science Kid in Spanish
It seems like every generation grows up with a science-related television show, like Mr. Wizard or 321-Contact. For this next generation, KCET's popular cartoon Sid the Science Kid has drawn the eyes of preschoolers all over California. I have watched Sid and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I was very happy to hear that KCET has made this very fun and educational cartoon available in Spanish!
Starting Jan. 4, Sid el Niño Cientifico joined KCET's daily morning block of children's programming, following Los Niños en Su Casa, the award-winning program for parents and caregivers of young children. The show runs from 6:30 a.m.-7:00 a.m. in 11 counties throughout Southern and Central California and features the Spanish-language versions of all 41 the Sid the Science Kid episodes.
The show promotes exploration and science readiness in a kid-friendly way. Sid explores the world of science with the help of his friends and family and encourages viewers to explore and ask questions about the world around them. Sid the Science Kid, co-produced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET, broadcasts in English daily at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Both Sid the Science Kid and the new Spanish-language version are funded by First 5 California.
