Happy Holidays from First 5 LA
Christmas is almost here, and for me that means a long
needed break and time with family. Whatever you are celebrating this
holiday season, I hope you have at least one meaningful and
rejuvenating day to reflect on the events of 2009 and to connect with
friends and family as you bring in the New Year.
As many of you
know, we at First 5 LA are gearing up to implement our new strategic
plan, which gives us much to look forward to in 2010. If you haven't
already done so, I hope you'll take the time to learn about the
strategic plan that will guide our investments for the next five years.
Much of the information is on our Web site. So
much of the new plan is based on lessons learned over 10 years of
grantmaking in Los Angeles County. We aim to build on our past
strengths, and yet look forward to pursuing new strategies for
improving the lives of children in the communities in which they live.
The plan marks a turning point for First 5 LA, just as ringing in a New
Year represents a turning point in all our lives. We look forward to moving forward together in 2010. In the meantime, the Monday Morning Report will be 'on vacation' for the next two weeks.
