Greetings!
As we near the end of the 2010-2012 term, I am delighted to report the results of our election for next term below and welcome the following new members to our Board of Directors for 2012-2014: Heidi Ames; Talesha Caynon; Heather Flanner; Jeanine Kilgallen; Marcia Thunberg; and Hannah Zaitlin. These new leaders in our organization will bring fresh ideas and insight as we move forward into the next term.
While the pipeline of new leaders is flowing strong, in order to do so, several of the long term leaders of the NHWBA are leaving the pipeline and we will be leaving them in August with a very fond farewell. While their departure is bittersweet, they will stay involved in committee work and you should see a seamless transition with no changes to the quality of our programs or events. A spotlight on these board members is contained later in this letter. I extend my personal thanks to each of them for their guidance and insight throughout my tenure on the board.
Many thanks to you as a member of NHWBA as well. Without your membership and support, our organization would not be able to fill the pipeline for future years.
Best regards,
Holly B. Haines, President
New Hampshire Women's Bar Association

Food Drive To Help Feed Hungry Children Ends Today! For the fourth consecutive year, the NHWBA collected food and monetary donations to help feed hungry children here in New Hampshire. The NHWBA collected canned fruit, pasta items (boxed, canned or bagged) and monetary donations for the New Hampshire Food Bank. Checks will still be accepted and should be made payable to "NH Food Bank" and sent to NHWBA at P. O. Box 915, Manchester, NH 03105. Food donations that have been made within individual firms and offices will be collected by NHWBA representatives today. If you have not yet arranged to have the food items collected at your office picked up, please contact Katherine Brown or Cathy Shanelaris. All food items and monetary donations collected during the drive will benefit the New Hampshire Food Bank to help with the increased need for food during the summer months. Specifically, the New Hampshire Food Bank and local food pantries have the added strain of families needing more food because they cannot rely on the schools for hot lunches for their children. Thank you to all who donated to the NHWBA's Food Drive! |

Table for Eight Featuring Chief Justice Nadeau a Night to Remember! Delicious food and wonderful company were on tap on Wednesday, May 9, when NHWBA members met Chief Justice Nadeau for dinner at Tulsi in Kittery, Maine. Tulsi is known to be the best Indian Restaurant on the Seacoast and it lived up to its reputation. Those who attended enjoyed the evening and learned a great deal from Justice Nadeau and each other. Thank you, Justice Nadeau, for spending the evening with some of our members! Our Table for Eight program will continue this fall with one in September featuring Judge Kristin Spath and one in October featuring Justice Gary Hicks. More details to come! |
