News and Events:
December 2009
Greetings!

I'm so pleased to be sharing with you the "new" look of the NH Women's Bar Association!  Our new web site is just days away from being launched and we hope that you'll find the site even more useful with its new online registration and member directory features.  I'd especially like to thank those members of our Board, our assistant Jill Desrochers and Kevin Macleod and Brad Emerson of Open Skye Communications for their amazing work on this project!

I'm also pleased to share with you that MassMutual is continuing its relationship with the NHWBA as a sponsor.  We will be working with them to continue offering financial literacy programs for our members throughout the upcoming year. Stay tuned for more!

Finally, I know that the holidays can be a time of additional stress for many people. In fact, last year at this time, my family suffered the loss of someone in my husband's extended family who had been experiencing symptoms of depression for quite some time that had gone untreated. This individual had a successful professional practice, a beautiful, healthy family and was greatly admired in the community - and the pain from the loss of this individual remains with many to this day. If you think you could use some help getting through the holiday season or need help with other personal issues, please do not hesitate to contact Cecie Hartigan with the New Hampshire Lawyers' Assistance Program (NHLAP) or get in touch with someone else who can help. The mission of our association and the NHLAP is to support members of the bar and there is no need to suffer in silence.

Best wishes for a peaceful holiday season!

Sincerely,

Kristin Mendoza, President
Come to Our Annual Holiday Party!

When:       Thursday, December 17, 2009
Where:      Devine, Millimet & Branch
                  111 Amherst Street
                  Manchester, NH
Time:         5:30-7:30p.m

Were you able to attend our fall reception?  If so, you know how much fun it is to get together with fellow NHWBA members.  If not, we've got another great networking event for you to attend!

Come join us at Devine Millimet's festively decorated Manchester office for drinks and appetizers on Thursday, December 17th.  We will be announcing a special community service project that the NHWBA will be undertaking for 2010. While we've done a number of smaller community service and outreach projects in the past, our 2010 project is probably one of the larger projects we've undertaken in recent history and we hope that once you hear more about it, you'll consider participating in some way.

Come learn more about our special community service project for 2010, eat and drink with friends and, who knows, there may just be a present under the tree with your name on it!

Please RSVP to Jill Desrochers.  We look forward to seeing you there!
Membership Renewal Time

We are about to begin our membership renewal drive.  This year, all member registration renewals will be through our new web site. This online registration process will include a new feature to allow for members to pay their membership dues by credit card. However, members will also be able to continue to send in checks if that is their preference.

Once your registration is approved, members will create a user name and password which will give them access to the member section of our web site, which will feature a searchable membership directory and online event registration. Stay tuned for an email announcing that the new website is live and instructions for obtaining a login ID and password for the new site.

This is a great time to let your friends and colleagues know about all of the benefits of NHWBA membership and invite them to become members as well.  Any questions about membership enrollment or renewal can be directed to our Membership Secretary, Karyl Martin, at kmartin@sheehan.com or (603) 627-8292.  We are very excited about the new look and added benefits of the new website and hope you will be too!

Watch your mailbox and email for additional membership renewal information.
