Greetings!
Spring is here!
Yes, I am choosing to ignore yesterday's very unwelcomed snowfall and forecasts for Thursday's "wintery mix". (Brrr!) Spring can also be a state of mind and personally, I'm choosing to be in Spring despite the local weather forecasts.
Our Board and committees are also very much focusing on Spring. In this issue, you are going to see a lot of announcements about things to come -- and what you see below is not even everything we're working on! We've got oodles happening so shake off those icicles and come join us.
Sincerely,

Highlights From Our Nashua Networking Event
Many new and familiar faces enjoyed a private party of shopping and networking at one of Nashua's coolest new boutiques, Fresh of Nashua. Thank you to our host, Fresh of Nashua, for closing the store early for our private party!
We enjoyed shopping for new and fresh fashions, stylish accessories and bags - we were treated to make-up consultation by Aesthetics by Valerie - all while enjoying wine, hors d'oeuvres by Stella Blu, and good company!
Stay Tuned for a chance to network with NHWBA members in YOUR area - we are planning to host our next networking event in Portsmouth in June - Watch for details! |

More Financial Education Classes On The Way!
In January, we were pleased to host Mary Murphy from MassMutual Financial Group at a lunchtime program to help our members focus on getting their financial houses in order. Now we're ready to take things further and give members the information and practical skills they need to take better control of their financial management. Over the next three months Mary will be offering a series of four 1-hour workshops to our members covering a wide range of financial planning topics. All sessions are FREE to our members and will be offered in two different locations.
Session 1 will be offered on Wednesday, April 8th at noon in Manchester and on Thursday, April 16th at noon in Portsmouth. Members may be able to participate by conference call as well.
More information will follow shortly so stay tuned! |

NHWBA To Sponsor Food Drive
The NHWBA has been invited to participate in a pilot project this spring with the National Conference of Women's Bar Associations (NCWBA) to benefit food banks all across the country. Because many low income families rely on school hot lunch assistance programs to help them provide nutritional meals to their children, summer vacations -- when this form of assistance is not available -- can be quite daunting and can result in many children going without proper nutrition. In April, we will be announcing how our members can participate in our local food drive to benefit the N.H. Food Bank and help stock the shelves for N.H. families in need over the summer months. Please keep an eye out for the details and participate in whatever way you can. We will be reporting our results to the NCWBA, along with other women's bar associations around the country, in an effort to come up with a national campaign for all women bar associations from coast to coast. Stay tuned! |

NHWBA Supports the NH Pro Bono Program
On Friday, February 13, 2009, NHWBA member Heidi Barrett-Kitchen joined NH Bar member Robin Fisk for a Pro Bono referral marathon. In a short 3 hours, Heidi and Robin referred 13 cases! Now, those 13 individuals and their families will have legal assistance to help them through these difficult economic times.
On behalf of the staff and clients of Pro Bono, thank you to Heidi and Robin for taking time to help those in need. Your support of the Pro Bono Program is greatly appreciated!
If any NHWBA members are interested in participating in future referral marathons or learning more about the Pro Bono Program, please contact Joceline Champagne at 715-3262 or at jchampagne@nhbar.org.
Pro Bono helps with many different types of civil legal matters. No matter what your practice area, Pro Bono can use your help. Consider calling today. |
