     As stated in my first issue, Freefall, this e-newsletter is designed to encourage and uplift fellow sojourners in the faith. Every month, I will be digging deep into the Christian faith, asking questions, seeking answers, and listening. Listening to God and to my readers. We are on a pilgrimage, as the psalmist writes in Psalm 84:4-6 (NIV):

"Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
       they are ever praising you.
       Selah. Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
       who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
       they make it a place of springs;
       the autumn rains also cover it with pools."

And, in the MESSAGE BIBLE:

"Birds find nooks and crannies in your house,
      sparrows and swallows make nests there.
   They lay their eggs and raise their young,
      singing their songs in the place where we worship.
   God-of-the-Angel-Armies! King! God!
      How blessed they are to live and sing there!
 And how blessed all those in whom you live,
      whose lives become roads you travel;
   They wind through lonesome valleys, come upon brooks,
      discover cool springs and pools brimming with rain!
   God-traveled, these roads curve up the mountain, and
      at the last turn-Zion! God in full!"

May God give you fresh words today.

Fresh words for a fresh start.

  • Welcome to my first enewsletter! Subject: "Freefall: Take the Leap and Trust God." In this issue, Janell launches a short, but indepth study on the area of trusting in God. Her first article, "The Reckless Leap," discusses how trusting in God is much like a freefall. Spiritual freefall, as Janell likes to think of it. Total abandon and surrender to the will of God.
