Aetna: Health Care Reform Timeline
The federal health care reform legislation, known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, signed by the President on March 23, 2010, and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act approved by Congress, signed by the President today, will expand the availability of health care coverage to millions of Americans. While some of the measures will be implemented this year, many do not take effect until 2014 and some extend out to 2020.

Anthem: Health Care Reform
Earlier this week President Obama signed into law H.R. 3590, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. And last Thursday Congress passed the reconciliation bill making additional changes to the new law.
The new legislation represents over 2,000 pages of new federal law that will touch virtually every facet of the health care industry, including a variety of near-term and longer-term changes to the health insurance marketplace that will impact all of your clients.

UnitedHealthcare: Federal Mental Health Parity Interim Final Regulations
The Federal Mental Health Parity Act requires our fully-insured employers with 50-2,999 employees, as well as self-funded customers, to offer the same level of coverage for mental health and substance use disorder services as that offered for medical and surgical services through their plan.
The 154-page Federal Mental Health Parity Interim Regulations and comments, located above, were published in February in the Federal Register. Highlights of new/updated information from the interim regulations are as follows:
