BlueCross: Express Scripts Security
Breach
Due to the recent extortion attempt against Express Scripts, Inc.
(ESI), Capital BlueCross has decided to send a notification letter (Attachment
A) to all groups who currently have ESI Rx coverage through Capital BlueCross.
The letter contains a brief description of what has occurred, how private
information is being protected, and where additional information on this topic
is available. The letter will be mailed to the groups on November 21, 2008.

Independence Blue Cross: Michelle's Law
Independence Blue Cross has issued the following clarification
regarding Michelle's law. The law is
effective October 9, 2009 and begins on or after your renewal.

Independence Blue Cross:
Flu Vaccinations
IBC
will offer coverage for the administration costs of the H1N1 (swine flu)
vaccine when it becomes available. In addition IBC will continue to cover
seasonal flu vaccine. Managed care members who receive an influenza
vaccine in a setting other than a physician's office or hospital (e.g., in a
supermarket, pharmacy, etc.) are eligible for reimbursement of their
out-of-pocket costs up to $25. Member reimbursement for this type of
service requires submission of the paid receipt or bill, along with a
specially-designed claim form which is attached.
