Aetna: Announces Intention to Acquire Horizon
Behavioral Services, LLC
As
you may know, Aetna has announced its intent
to acquire Horizon Behavioral Services, LLC (Horizon) a leading provider of
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to many mid-sized and large employers.
Horizon is the third largest domestic EAP provider by membership, representing
over 13 million members in 50 states and countries around the globe. The
transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including
Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust approval and applicable regulatory approval in California.

Premium Rates for Groups with Covered Employees Residing in New York
While
group health care premium rates are driven predominantly by expected medical
and retention costs, state and government requirements can also directly affect
the premium. A recent amendment to New York
state law will result in an additional charge for all groups with covered
employees who are residents of New
York.

group product solutions from Independence Blue Cross for effective dates in
2009.

UnitedHealthcare: Online Enrollment Added for COBRA
Participants
UnitedHealthcare Benefit Services has expanded its
online offering to include enrollment for all COBRA/direct bill participants at
uhcservices.com.
With online enrollment, participants will be able to select from the plans
offered by their employer, confirm coverages, update information and review
benefit information at any time. |
