Federal Mental Health Parity & Addiction Equality Act of 2008
Summary On October 3, 2008, the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (the "Act") was signed into law as part of the Federal "bail out" bill. This Act dictates that when mental health and substance abuse benefits are provided, they must be no more restrictive in their financial requirements or treatment limits than those that are predominant for medical/surgical benefits.

Highmark: Accounts to Receive Employee Count Form
Various laws require that we periodically collect employee count information from groups that contract directly with us or indirectly through an association or other multi-employer plan. In order to comply with these laws, it is very important that we have accurate information. Therefore, in a few weeks we will mail an Employee Count Form to all Highmark Accounts. The Accounts will be asked to complete the form and return it to us by FAX or in the return envelope that will be provided.

Independence Blue Cross: New Heart Disease and Diabetes Programs
The CMR program focuses on members at risk of developing Cardiometabolic syndrome, which may increase a person's chance of developing heart disease and diabetes. The program teaches members about their varying symptoms of heart disease and diabetes and the behavior and lifestyle changes that may help prevent these diseases and help them lead healthier lives.

UnitedHealth Group, Cisco Launch Connected Care
Washington, D.C. (July 15, 2009) - UnitedHealth Group [NYSE: UNH] and Cisco [NASDAQ: CSCO] today announced they are partnering to build the first national telehealth network, which will give patients access to physicians and specialists when in-person visits are not possible. The new "Connected Care" program combines audio and video technology and health resources to greatly expand physicians' reach into rural, urban and other underserved areas. UnitedHealth Group has committed tens of millions of dollars toward the new initiative.
