Flexible Spending Accounts: Pharmacies and IIAS
The
electronic payment card guidance issued in 2006 (IRS Notice 2006-69) outlined
when and how "debit cards" may be used to pay for flexible spending account
(FSA) expenses. Subsequent rulings and
guidance provided extensions and transitional relief which delayed the
effective date of the rules for certain classes of merchants and vendors,
including pharmacies.

Geisinger Health Plan - The Heart Group Added to
Network
Effective June 1st, 2009. The Heart Group in Lancaster County, PA
is now a participating provider in the Geisinger Health Plan Network. This
update can be located on our Online Provider Directory. (www.thehealthplan.com) This practice is open
to all lines of business and accepting new patients. |

Pennsylvania: Health Insurance Coverage for Adult Children
Attached is
information released by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department regarding Senate
Bill 189 which was signed into law on June 10, 2009. The new law expands health insurance coverage
for children of insured parents. It
allows adults up to age 30, under certain conditions, to remain covered by
their parents' health insurance.

United Healthcare: Specialty Drug Program Transition Continues
Specialty drug distribution and clinical support
services for rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis medications
will transition from the current specialty network providers to our in-house
specialty provider, Prescription Solutions®, in a staged approach
beginning July 1, 2009.
