 Highmark: New Online "Comparison
Shop" Tool
A new online tool allows Highmark members to
"comparison shop" by researching what different facilities charge for
elective surgical procedures. "Care Comparison Costs" is a new tool in the "Your
Spending" section of the Member Web site that allows Highmark members to
look up facility-specific, average cost ranges for common elective surgical
procedures from admission to discharge, including cataract surgery,
laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, and pregnancy delivery.

Horizon BCBSNJ: Medicare Reporting Mandate Requirements
The
Medicare Reporting Mandate is a federal mandate (Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid SCHIP Extension Act of 2007) with
new mandatory reporting requirements for all group health plans, effective
January 1, 2009.

UnitedHealthcare: 2010 HSA Pricing Update
Beginning June 1, 2009, those employers enrolled in
a Definity Health Savings Account (HSA) administered by OptumHealth BankSM
will notice a change in their existing fees. The goal of these changes is to
create a simple, competitive HSA experience.
