Model Consulting - Memorial Day Holiday
Schedule
Please be advised that Model Consulting will be closing at 2PM
on Friday, May 22, 2009. A few members of the Model team will be available from
2PM to 4PM in the event you need to speak with someone immediately.

EXTENDED HEALTH CARE FOR YOUNG ADULTS PASSES IN PENNSYLVANIA
May 13, 2009 - The state House
yesterday overwhelmingly approved, 192-2, a bill that would extend health
insurance coverage to dependent children up to the age of 30. The legislation,
which passed the Senate unanimously in March, would allow adult children to be
covered under their parents' insurance plan.

recently released information regarding their new pharmacy benefit, ID card
enhancements as well as several other important updates.

Highmark: Important
Information about Act 108
Act 108 of
2008, a Pennsylvania
mandate, became effective February 6, 2009. It allowsHighmark to
contract directly with additional provider types. It also makes it possible formembers to
visit these provider types directly throughout Pennsylvania regardless of the provider
network associated with their Highmark product.

Independence Blue Cross: PA
Mandate for Autism Spectrum Disorders
Information was recently release by Independence
Blue Cross regarding how they are covering the Pennsylvania Mandate for Autism
Spectrum Disorders. In July 2008, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
passed a law requiring health insurers to cover the diagnosis and treatment of
autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Key
