Greetings!
December is filled with opportunities to rejoice. Whatever your beliefs and choices are in celebrating this season, my wish for you is that your days are filled with love and peace. You deserve it. It can be easy to get lost in the stress, demands, expectations, memories, delights, and sometimes sorrows that accompany this time of year. So it seems appropriate to offer a gift to you in the form of The Voice of Self-Care. I wrote this piece on Friday evening to share at a special Nia class on Sunday. It is inspired by the genius of Debbie Rosas, the co-founder of The Nia Technique. Please enjoy reading, absorbing, and savoring the words in the article below. I invite you to hear it from the perspective of the highest voice within you. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the solstice all use candles to symbolize light. May your inner light be shining through your celebration this season and continue into a wondrous New Year.
With visions of candlelight, sugar plums (what are those anyway?), and self-care dancing in your head,
Susan Tate, M.A. Author of Wellness Wisdom: 31 Ways to Nourish Your Mind, Body, & Spirit Director, Washington Wellness Associates
