Susan Tate Greetings!

It's December already! As you celebrate your special holidays during this season, I wish you peace on earth, and peace within.

People often tell me they appreciate my wisdom. I am learning to receive that compliment fully, yet it still cracks me up to have people think I'm wise. To be clear, I honor and celebrate my wisdom, but I want you to know that it didn't descend upon me in a moment of great ecstasy. I have soaked in wisdom during the times when I was pounding my fist on the bedroom floor while tears of grief slipped down my face. I also soaked in wisdom the first time I hiked the breathtaking trails on Mount Rainier . . . and in all the highs and lows in between. I wrote this month's feature article Ten Quotes to Illumine Your Way to share inspiration that has supported me along my way. It is my holiday gift to you.

I have created a new three-hour Eat Pray Love Dance Workshop and I can't wait to share it with you! It skims the cream off the recent class series I just taught and I'm excited to offer this new workshop in January on both coasts. Check out the details below for the Seattle, WA and Charlottesville, VA events.

With blessings for a New Year filled with love and peace,                                               Peace dove

Ten Quotes to Illumine Your Way

candle with holiday lights sparkling

When my son Zack was 18, I vividly remember a poignant conversation with him while we were sitting on the deck at our home in Virginia. He slipped his arm around my shoulders and said, "Mom, I'm a lot smarter than you are . . . but you are a lot wiser than I am." Well, I had to agree with him! I also noticed he was gathering quite a bit of wisdom of his own.

Our wisdom doesn't come to us overnight. It comes to us through the highest of joys and the deepest of grief; it comes through loving and leaving and yearning and learning. It comes through our exploration of faith and life and love and loss. Each one of our experiences is woven into a personal collection of wisdom that creates an intricate, ever-expanding tapestry of our life.

As a nourishing gift to you this holiday season--and especially as the light is returning to our days--I'd like to share ten quotes or sayings with you that have provided light, guidance, and wisdom along my life's path. And if you'd like to read more about how to implement them into your own life, look for the second edition of my book: Wellness Wisdom: 31 Ways to Nourish Your Mind, Body, & Spirit, available in bookstores and online in January!
