Greetings!
Happy mid-summer! I am very excited to share this month's article, A Personal Wellness Bill of Rights: Health Care Reform You Can LIVE With! I propose that you consider creating your own health care reform package guided by your own Wellness Bill of Rights. Put what you want in your package and make a choice to focus on wellness rather than illness.
You are invited to join my new Facebook group for Washington Wellness Associates. The information you need is below. I look forward to finding you there!
Are you looking for nourishing support to stop sugar/carb cravings? See the information in this newsletter to learn about how I got off this roller coaster several years ago.
You'll also notice in this issue that I am a big supporter of the Women of Wisdom book by Kris Steinnes. See below for details of a recent book campaign I was involved in that launched the book to the bestseller list!
Look for a special issue in August. I will be reprinting an article published in the Beloit College Magazine in 2000, when my daughter went off to college. "College Bound" contains information that has been supportive to people who are seeing their loved ones go off to college or off on a life adventure.
In celebration of wellness,
Susan Tate, MA, Editor Director, Washington Wellness Associates

A Personal Wellness Bill of Rights: Health Care Reform You Can LIVE With!
. . . while we wait for Congress to design a miraculous and far-reaching "cure" for a worn out system of "health" care, I propose that each of us consider creating our own health care reform package guided by what I will call A Personal Wellness Bill of Rights. We can put what we want in our package and make a choice to focus on wellness and prevention of illness. This can surely serve us better than attempting to pick up the pieces after our bodies break down.
We could each prescribe for ourselves health and wellness practices that we could not only LIVE with, but we could actually thrive in as we enjoy their benefits. Most of the rights below involve choices we can make that don't cost us a cent. But I must warn you of possible side effects: choosing to implement any of these rights may enhance your life and cause expanded, joy-filled wellness!
A Personal Wellness Bill of Rights
· I have the right to choose vibrant, wholesome foods that nourish my body, mind and spirit.
· I have the right to dedicate four hours a week to exercise (movement) that I love.
· I have the right to set the intention to be as well as I can be, even if I have a chronic or life-threatening illness.

Lose the Cravings
Summer time is a great time to focus on healthier eating. With summer markets and local foods, your food choices can be a delightful treat you can give yourself! It's also a good time to get off the sugar/carb roller coaster. If you crave carbohydrates
or sugar, you are not alone. When we consume high-glycemic foods, it
causes an over stimulation of the release of insulin.
Two years ago, I discovered a program that successfully reduced my craving for high-glycemic foods. This clinically tested 5-day program, recommended
by Christiane Northrup, M.D., totally reset my metabolism. I am happy to report that I have easily sustained its benefits! It is also proving to be
successful in jump-starting healthier eating habits in my clients. Ready
to kick the sugar or carb cravings? Click here to learn more.

Women of Wisdom Book Campaign
On June 23, I participated in the Women of Wisdom book campaign which was very successful in making Women of Wisdom: Empowering the Dreams and Spirit of Women make the bestseller list on Amazon.com. The book reached #17 in Amazon's bestselling Self-Help category.
Thank you to those who purchased the book and made it possible for this beautiful inspiring book, written by my friend and Women of Wisdom founder Kris Steinnes, to achieve such success! Congratulations Kris!
