Susan Tate Greetings!

I have been experiencing overwhelming episodes of love lately. The opportunity to be with family and friends this summer, to be the officiant at a wedding in Vermont and a commitment ceremony in Ontario, to enjoy this exquisite sunshine, to be passionately sharing the health and prosperity work I get to share through Team Northrup  -- so much gratitude and love. It has also made me aware of how feelings of fear can sometimes interfere to block that healing flow of love. This month's article provides you with 5 Steps for Choosing Love Over Fear. I trust you will love it!

I'm excited to announce the sparkling design changes on my website. May it continue to inspire healthy choices.  Sending along my best wishes for a fantastic and pleasurable fall. May you be drenched in love and wellness.

In joyful wellness,

Susan Tate, MA, Editor
Director, Washington Wellness Associates

Lotus Heart5 STEPS FOR CHOOSING LOVE OVER FEAR

Make your decisions based on love, not fear ~ Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

I just finished reading, The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles, by cellular biologist Bruce Lipton. One of his statements caused me to laugh and then gasp. On page 151 he wrote, "The simple truth is, when you're frightened you're dumber." Now I am not one to label someone's intelligence, but after reading his biological explanation of how our cells respond so unfavorably to a steady diet of fear, I believe I make healthier choices when choosing love rather than fear. LOSE THE CRAVINGSwoman looking at desserts and sweets

If you crave
carbohydrates or sugar, you are not alone. When we consume high-glycemic foods, it causes an over stimulation of the release of insulin.

A little over a year ago
, I discovered a program that successfully reduced my craving for high-glycemic foods. This clinically tested 5-day program, recommended by Christiane Northrup, M.D., totally reset my metabolism. A year has passed and I am sustaining its benefits. It is also proving to be successful in jumpstarting healthier eating habits in my clients.

I was so impressed that I have expanded my business to include collaboration with Dr. Northrup through Team Northrup because its profound health benefits to many of my clients. Are you ready to kick the sugar or carb cravings? Click here to learn more

BIRTH, PLEASURE AND BOLD

A dear friend recently invited me to a screening of an amazing documentary film entitled Orgasmic Birth (click here to inquire about local screenings). Stunned by the sensitivity and beauty of this film, I was reminded of the powerful impact of each childbirth experience. The film also reminded me that our American maternity care system does not always honor the needs of newborns, their mothers and partners and families.

Amanda, a character in Birth who chants "My Body Rocks!"After viewing this film, I made the decision to have Washington Wellness Associates became a local sponsor for a project that my Team Northrup mentor, Christiane Northrup, M.D. calls "an exciting, uplifting and empowering answer to our nation's childbirth crisis."  BOLD is a global movement that uses the arts to inspire education, truth and action around maternity care issues. It includes Red Tent events, a safe and beautiful way for women to share birth stories, and performances of the play, Birth by Karen Brody. Hailed as "the Vagina Monologues of birth," Brody wrote the play after interviewing over 100 women across the US about their births. Click here for a short film about BOLD.

For those of you in the Puget Sound area, there are performances of Birth in Seattle, Vashon, Tacoma and Olympia beginning this weekend. Click here for the local BOLD in Seattle web site.  If you are outside of Puget Sound, visit the national web site, where you'll find a list of more than 30 cities holding BOLD events nationwide. Please join me in BEING BOLD!
