THURSDAY WINE TASTING
JANUARY 19, 6-8PM, COST: $10
PRESENTED BY: LANA, WORLD WINE IMPORTS

Bauer Haus Riesling, Germany

This Riesling is from the Nahe region in Germany. It has peach and fine apple aromas with a crisp acidity that results in a well balanced, easy to drink wine. It is perfect as an aperitif or to complement a wide range of foods from pork and ham to fish and poultry.

Arbor Crest Sauvignon Blanc, Washington State

This 2010 Sauvignon Blanc from the Columbia Valley is a product produced solely from the Bacchus Vineyard in the Columbia Valley. The deep sandy soils and mature vines allow the grapes to yield polished flavors that are fresh and lively with enticing grapefruit, pineapple and spicy characters that unfold nicely on the smooth finish.  90 pts. | Outstanding Value - Robert Parker

California Coast Pinot Noir, California

From Sonoma County, this medium-bodied Pinot Noir has bright flavors balanced by a layer of earthy mushroom.

Arbor Crest Merlot, Washington State

An excellent example of a full-bodied Washington Merlot. Ripe and concentrated, this winestrings layers of intense raspberry, complex currant and blueberry notes framed by spicy, vanilla-scented oak. Barrel aged in French oak for twenty months, this elegant wine finishes boldly with intense cherry, blackberry and plum flavors lingering nicely on the palate. 91 pts. | Editors' Choice - Wine Enthusiast 89+ pts. - Robert Parker

Grand Chatelain Malbec, France

100% Malbec. This wine comes from a selection of the best terroirs of Cahors. Intense ruby, nearly black. Well-matured fruits, nice toast, complex, very evolutive. Harmony between the fruit and the barrel aging. Velvety, long finish after it opens up a bit.

PureCru Sangio Vetta, California

Napa, Lodi and Lake County 91% Sangiovese, 7% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon Sangio Vetta meaning Sangiovese at the peak or its pinnacle. Spicy red fruit and baking spices in the nose. On the palate the spices persist alongside ripe red fruits with notes of Rhubarb and cranberry that is balanced with good acidity. Yet the wine is ripe and rich throughout.
