Brownie Troop 177
This troop of girls is passionate about animals, dogs in particular! The girls wanted to find a charity true to their hearts, so that's how they happened upon Paws 4 You!
The girls had a Bake Sale and a Healthy Food Sale raising approximately $300! They had fun shopping for toys and beds for the adoptable dogs at Paws 4 You.
Also, the girls thoroughly enjoyed visiting and playing fetch with the dogs and their new toys. Bath time was the best for not only the girls but all the dogs too!

We started our celebration a bit early this year by teaming up with Arden Moore to launch the National Dog Party in Miami on June 22.
Each party - one in Miami, San Diego and New York - benefited a great pet charity such as Paws 4 You Rescue. The Chalk Lounge on South Beach donated their venue to host the Miami Dog Party. The party featured three hours of scheduled activities including K9 Karaoke, Canine Musical Chairs, Four Legged Life's Tunnel of Love and Snoopy Says. Fabulous prizes were given to the winners including a pet tracker collar from TAGG. Must have swag bags were given out to all the guests and included great items for your dog. It was filled to the brim with special goodies.
"Think of National Dog Party Day as the ultimate date night with your dog," says Moore, who was inspired to create this national holiday after authoring the book, Dog Parties: How to Party with Your Pup. Partying with a purpose is exactly what we all did at Chalk on this particular Friday. BIG thanks goes out to not only Chalk on South Beach and Arden Moore but Pet Life Radio and Haute or Not Pets too. Waglet Works, South Beach Animal Hospital, and Pepe le Pooche were local sponsors donating much needed funds to take care of the dogs at Paws 4 You Rescue. Costco and Doggie Bag Café brought food and treats for our friends (both two and four legged) who were partying like pup stars!
National and local sponsors coupled with the hundreds of guests that participated in each city helped raise over $12,000 for the pet charities involved. Much appreciation goes out to PetSmart, Beneful and Pets Best Insurance for their monetary support on a national level.
Max Norman Pet Photography and Urban Pet Photography captured many great moments at the Miami location. Click here to see our gallery. Thank you to all those guests that joined us on South Beach and we hope you are also looking forward to next year's National Dog Party on June 22, 2013. Carol

Paws 4 You Rescue Supporters Make Great Dog Sitters
We think Paws 4 You supporters and good old fashioned dog lovers make great dog sitters. That's why we've partnered with Rover.com on a new program called Sit a Dog, Save a Life.
It's a great way for dog lovers to raise money for Paws 4 You Rescue's efforts, save dogs' lives, and make some additional money for yourself.
Here's how it works:
Sign up to become a dog sitter
As a Rover Dog sitter, you get to set your own rates and schedule and choose the dog(s) you want to care for. You can also choose to care for a dog in your own residence, or do some dog sitting at another person's home. Dog sitters on Rover.com typically make $25 to $50 per dog, per day, and no experience or licensing is necessary - just a love of dogs!
Paws 4 You Rescue supporters can choose to donate a portion of their profits directly to Paws 4 You. When you do this, your Rover profile will display a "Paws 4 You Rescue Donor" badge, so that others can see that you are committed to supporting Paws 4 You Rescue and help make life worth barking about for our canine friends. (Please note: Rover.com will deduct your donation from your sitter profits and send it directly to P4Y).
Find great dog sitters on Rover.com
By utilizing great local pet sitters who've decided to donate to Paws 4 You Rescue, you will help our efforts to save dogs' lives in our area. Go to Rover.com, select your zip code, and look for Rover sitters with the "Paws 4 You Rescue Donor" badge!

So if you're looking to turn your love of dogs into support for P4Y, try dog sitting. And if you're looking for a dog sitter, check out a caring dog sitter who has pledged to donate a portion of their profits to our Rescue. We'd really appreciate it!
Please note: In order for Paws 4 You Rescue to receive charitable donations from Rover dog sitters, payments for dog sitter services must be booked and transacted on the Rover.com website.

About Paws 4 You Rescue Paws 4 You Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer, donor-subsidized animal rescue organization based in Miami, Florida. Our top priority is to save animals from euthanasia at Miami-Dade Animal Services. On average 100 animals are destroyed every day at this county shelter!
Rescued animals vary from being sick, injured, homeless and surrendered to simply lost. We give these animals a safe environment, professional medical care, pet meds, training, support, hope and lots of love. Our animals are sterilized, vaccinated and ID micro-chipped to prevent future loss. Some require major surgery from a specialist to repair broken limbs while others may need additional rehabilitation time and specific medical care - ranging from respiratory illnesses and skin infections to cherry eyes and heartworm treatments.
Once Paws 4 You Rescue commits to helping an animal, we seek the best quality treatment available - taking no shortcuts. Our dogs often stay at veterinary clinics or boarding facilities when foster homes are not available. In order to increase our animals' visibility, we spend time taking our new friends to different events across South Florida in search of their forever home. Our team is compassionate and passionate in reaching these goals. We are a group of professional people with various backgrounds, who together commit to saving as many animals as possible.
Additionally, we believe in the value of education pertaining to the importance of spaying and neutering. Pet overpopulation is a serious problem in our county and by sterilizing your pet, you help relieve the strain on Miami-Dade Animal Services and our community.
Please support us. We depend on your expertise, time, temporary foster homes and donations to reach our goal of saving these animals.
