Paws 4 You (P4Y) volunteers showing dogs at the PetSmart across from The Falls on Sunday afternoons. Upon inquiry, we were so impressed with the P4Y Rescue volunteers, their various backgrounds and, their dedication to save dogs from the pound that we decided to become involved with this cause.
Matthew signed up for community service hours and enjoyed volunteering so much it became a Hare Family team venture.
Our entire family enjoys the feeling of being able to make an impact as part of the adoption process of homeless dogs. They have no voice, so we are their voice. Mike and I went from fostering one dog at a time to fostering the "heartworm positive" dogs at our office. Matthew and Christopher (whose help and enthusiasm make fostering possible) have helped us foster puppies and even two or three dogs at a time - not only at our office but at our home as well.
Karl's German Auto, located at 12969 SW 85th Avenue Road, is a family run business and our customers love to meet all the Paws 4 You Rescue dogs. Some bring their pets in just for a visit! Our customers have contributed in many ways - from putting money in the P4Y donation jar at our mechanic shop, to giving food, toys and towels to our adoptable dogs. One of our very special clients, Landshark Enterprises, generously loaned our Rescue heavy equipment to help repair a part of the boarding facility.
Over the past two years we have been a part of the foster program and have supported various fundraising and adoption events. We enjoy taking pictures with Santa Claus at PetSmart and Petco every year, raising money during Shop-for-a-Cause at Macy's and, introducing adoptable dogs to a very dog friendly area during CocoWalk Adoption Days. For the first time this year, Paws 4 You Rescue attended Fairchild Tropical Gardens' Dog Day which was a terrific day all around. One of the responsibilities of our family is to transport adoptable dogs to these various events using the Rescue van.
As Paws 4 You Rescue expanded, our family felt that we could handle another location in order to increase dog adoptions and exposure for the Rescue overall. We decided to volunteer at the Petco which is located at 6200 South Dixie Highway on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. We have a great group of dedicated adult and teen volunteers. We feel an inner sense of gratification in helping dogs find their forever homes.

Dr. Maria Oliveira of South Miami Animal Clinic for all of her dedication to our sick and injured dogs.

PINECREST CASINO NIGHT, December 5
CBS4 Anchor Shannon Hori hosted the first annual
Paws 4 You Rescue Casino Night Party!
Over $30,000 was raised during this special night. Fun was had by all under the stars and many great prizes were given out.
Special thanks to the Schwartz Family and to Shannon and her husband, Kendall, for joining us! The Schwartz Family opened their home to over 200 guests and Shannon did a terrific job as the emcee.

SANDY PAWS SPOTTED ON KEY BISCAYNE
Sandy Paws made his traditional visit to the pets of Key Biscayne this past Saturday, December 5 at the office of Dr. Eastman on Key Biscayne.
Pets were encouraged to visit with Sandy Paws and sit on his lap to whisper their holiday wishes! Pictures were taken for the proud owners to display with their holiday decorations.
All proceeds went directly to the adoptable dogs at Paws 4 You Rescue.

Special Needs Dog: Trixie
Trixie is a three year old blond lab mix who was run over by a car which is apparent from the tire marks across her hind legs. She was saved this past week by Paws 4 You Rescue from Miami-Dade Animal Services, aka the pound, where approximately 150 animals are destroyed daily. The pound took this picture the day she was brought in as a stray.
This lucky girl is now staying at a Paws 4 You Rescue vet clinic and getting the medication and surgery she needs to feel better. She is in good spirits and hanging in there.
