1st ANNUAL CENTER FOR MEDICAL TOURISM RESEARCH CONFERENCE

CMTR logoStrong Representation

Stackpole & Associates was a leading participant in the 1st Annual Center for Medical Tourism Research Conference held in San Antonio, Texas in January.  In addition to be invited to join the Center's Advisory Board, Irving Stackpole gave a presentation on conjoint analysis and its application in building medical tourism services.

Senior Associate, Elizabeth Ziemba, was a keynote speaker revealing the results of research conducted with colleague Kristin Tyman examing the success of marketing efforts by 13 JCI hospitals in Latin America in reaching the US market.  Entitled Taking Off to Take it Off - A Model for Medical Tourists to Evaluate Bariatric Surgical Services at JCI Hospitals in Latin America, this original research found that weak communications - broken web site links, language barriers as well as lack of response to emails and telephone calls - may be preventing hospitals from attracting more US patients.

Ms. Ziemba and Ms. Tyman are continuing to collaborate on this project and are currently applying the same research model to JCI hospitals in India.  Their new research will be available on our website soon.
