-First Firkin Friday! Hey Everybody! This weekend we have all kinds of fantastic 'bières' for our favorite tasting room 'amis'! Between First Firkin Friday, the release of our first collaboration beer of the year, the rerelease of a delicious sour classic and the one-time appearance of another never-before served sour, this weekend is definitely going to be one worth coming out for! Friday night we are going to be releasing our brand new collaboration beer: Chocosaurus Rye. Chocosaurus Rye was brewed with the fine folks of Bootleggers Brewery, who opened their brewery less than 4 miles down the road within just months of our own opening. Bootlegger's have been great friends of our since the beginning and it seemed fit to brew our first local collaboration with them. Chocosaurus Rye is an amalgamation of our two breweries styles: a 7% ABV dark rye lager that was finished with cacao nibs and vanilla beans. There aren't many lagers that work well in the winter but this one, full of rye spice and chocolate, should do the trick! Friday night we are also going to be pouring Sour In The Rye, which has been truly one of our all-time favorite beers. Brewed with nearly 40% rye malt, a feat in itself, this sour ale aged in barrels for over a year. The result is an 8.7% ABV sour brew that flaunts lots of complex character of rye, oak and fruity funk. Draft will only be available Friday night but luckily bottles should be available for a while longer. This brew is definitely worth coming out for! As if that were not enough, this weekend is also First Firkin Friday! For our firkin this Friday we are going to be pouring a lambic-style ale with cinnamon and apple juice. That should be a great treat for you sour-heads that are already going to be coming out for Sour in the Rye! Saturday night we will be pouring Filmishmish, a name derived from the Arabic term for "when apricots bloom." That barrel aged sour had apricots added and the result is a beer with fruity esters enhanced by hints of apricot jam and wood shavings. Filmishmish is a well balanced beer that keeps the apricot and oak character present while still putting the flavor of the well formed sour ale at the forefront. Come in for a glass of Filmishmish this Saturday only! Saturday night we are also going to be releasing our first Provisions Series beer of the New Year. Provisions Series: Mother Funker is a sour blonde ale that that has been aged for several year in barrels predominately used for Chardonnay. Mother Funker is a seriously sour beer, perhaps the most sour beer we've produced so far. Bursting with citrus, funk and a hint of white vinegar. Mother Funker is for those who like their sours with more sour. Sunday we are going to be closing early so that everyone can go and enjoy some Super Bowl fun out and about town. We will be open from 10 AM until 3:30 PM this Sunday. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause, we hope you will come in early to fill up some growlers and grab some bottles before the game begins! Some of our favorite food trucks are going to be this weekend to serve up some tasty grub for everyone. Friday night our old friends from the Lime Truck are going to be back and serving up their award winning cuisine. In case you missed the Tamarindo Truck's incredible food this past Sunday, we are having them back this Saturday and will be bringing some special Bruery-beer marinated goodness. Sunday the Garlic 'Scapes truck will be here to dish out some great food for the early lunch crowd. See you in the Tasting Room!
