Welcome to the 2012
Reserve Society!
Dear 2012 Reserve Society Member,
Welcome!
We're very excited for 2012 and we hope you are, too! We are well underway in our Quercus Maximus adventure, where we are boosting the amount of barrel-aged beers we can produce and store. We are currently at over 1000 barrels aging, and we predict we’ll have room for around 3000 barrels filled of delicious beer. As you might guess, this will take some time. The average time spent across our barrel-aged beers is approximately 14 months. This is being done in a temperature-controlled warehouse with a dedicated staff to maintain and blend these barrel-aged beers, which is a dream come true for us. Much of this beer is destined for distribution around the country, but much of the smaller batches of experimental beers we are working on will be Reserve Society exclusives and/or sold only through our own retail establishments. Further, we are working on an expansion of our fermentation cellar later this year and hopefully we'll have some other fun announcements as the year moves forward. Your membership in the Reserve Society is an enormous factor in us being able to afford these brewery improvements, so we thank you very much for making that fantastic decision!
Please read the below paragraphs thoroughly for information on your first beer allocations, merchandise pickups, the Reserve Society Celebration Party and other important announcements.
If you purchased this membership for a friend or relative, you must email society@thebruery.com immediately to have the name, info and address on the account changed so that they can purchase and pickup their allocations without any issues.
All beer allocations and event tickets are sold through society.thebruery.com
All allocation pickups will be at The Bruery Provisions in Old Towne Orange.
Reserve Society Celebration Event
We will be holding this year's Reserve Society Celebration on March 17th, 2012 at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim, CA. This is St. Patrick's Day and we see it as a fitting occasion for a gathering with friends for some fantastic beers. For those concerned, we'll be changing things around from last year's event to avoid long lines as best possible. Tickets will be available at society.thebruery.com beginning Tuesday, January109th, and will cost $50/person. Each member is able to purchase up to 2 tickets.
Initiation Package
We're starting the year off with a bang. As part of your initiation package, you will be receiving a bottle of 4 Calling Birds, Mélange #3 & Vitus Series: Oui Oui. You will also be getting a one of a kind 2012 Reserve Society hoodie and a membership card. These items will all be available for pickup at the end of the month and we will send you an email when they are ready.
We are working on another item included with your membership, but unfortunately it won’t be ready in time for your initiation package.
Allocations
There are also four allocated beers for you this month!
A separate email with information on your first allocations will be following shortly after this one. Make sure you take a good look at it and get your orders in!
Clusterforks
We had a great response with our Clusterfork parties in 2011 and we hope to continue the momentum into 2012. Our Clusterfork parties held on Saturday afternoons specifically for our Society members. At each party we feature a couple of our own special release beers, all of the current regular release beers and a light lunch. For these events, we highly encourage bringing 1 or 2 bottles of beer for sharing with the other attendees.
We will have tickets for the first 3 Clusterfork parties available online beginning today and the maximum amount of tickets per member per Clusterfork is 2 tickets. We anticipate the early Clusterfork sessions will sell out quickly, while Clusterforks held later in the year will take some time to sell completely. If you aren’t able to attend one of these first tastings, we apologize, and rest assured there will be more opportunities later in the year. The dates of the first three events are: January 21st, February 18th and April 21st.
The Reserve Society Forum
In an effort to centralize information about Reserve Society releases and events as well as encourage a community of members, we have created a social webspace for the 2012 Reserve Society. You will be receiving an email invite to join us at rsforum.thebruery.com (and also at thebrueryreservesociety.ning.com), a private social site where you can find our up to date announcements, a list of upcoming events, insider photos and videos as well as a place for public forums and even the opportunity to write your own blog posts should you want to share your beer reviews or other craft beer news with the rest of the 2012 Reserve Society.
We're really excited for all the beers and fun that will come in 2012 and we hope you are as well!
Keep an eye open for another eMail, which will have information on this month's allocations.
Cheers,
The folks at The Bruery
