Melange #3, Batch #50 & Provisions Series: Burly Gourd

Dear Reserve Society,

It's time again for some very special beer allocations.  Please read below to hear about what we have to offer you this time around and while you are at it, don't forget to renew your Reserve Society memberships for 2012!

The following beers will be available for order between Monday, 10/17 and Monday, 10/31 at society.thebruery.com  Please note that we will take these sales down on 10/25 to prepare for Black Tuesday sales, but they will be back up the next day.

Melange #3 - 12 Bottle Limit - $30/bottle

Melange #3 is a blend of three bourbon barrel aged strong ales.  White Oak Sap, a wheat wine, our Anniversary Series old ale and our imperial stout, Black Tuesday, join forces in this luxurious strong ale that links some of the best characteristics of each of the contributing beers. Chocolate, dark fruits, oaky vanilla and rich toffee-like character reach through the bourbon veneer for an intensely satisfying quaff.  


Batch #50 GFAR - 4 Bottle Limit - $20/bottle

In January of 2009, a homebrewer and microbiologist named Al Buck won our Batch #50 homebrew contest with his incredibly complex gueuze-style ale. We knew this beer wouldn’t be easy to re-create, but the perfect layers of classic barnyard funk and lactic sourness were impossible to resist. Nearly 3 years later, after brewing the beer once in 2009 and a second batch in 2010, after adding various strains of wild yeasts and bacteria to the barrels and the bottles, after blending multiple batches back together and well beyond our release of Batch #300, we’re finally prepared to release Batch #50 – Grand Funk Aleroad. Brewed in the classic Belgian Gueuze tradition of barrel aging and blending multiple vintages of lambic-style ale, Batch #50 is one of the most rewarding beers we’ve ever had the opportunity to brew.  


Provisions Series: Burly Gourd - 4 Bottle Limit - $15/bottle

We love Fall seasonal beers so we decided to brew another one in addition to Autumn Maple this year.  Burly Gourd is a pumpkin milk stout brewed with Autumnal spices and aged on cedar chips.  Brewed using freshly roasted pumpkins straight from Cal Poly's Farm Store, this flavor rich stout is the perfect answer to November's cooler weather and a slice of mom's pecan pie.

Your 15% membership discount will be applied to all sales. The above beers will be onsale through society.thebruery.com between 10/17 and 10/31 and will be available for pickup upon email announcement shortly thereafter.

When ordering these beers, the usual guidelines apply:
⁃ If your order is for more than one brand of beer, please make sure to order all bottles in one order.
⁃ Oders will be available at The Bruery Provisions during our standard operating hours (Sunday-Wednesday 12-10pm and Thursday-Saturday 11-12am).
⁃ Only those who have “Reserve Society” status on our eCommerce site will be able to order these releases. If you are a Reserve Society member and don't have an account on our eCommerce site, please sign up and eMail society@thebruery.com to give you access to the releases.
