Kim Hill has found comfort and clarity in worship and encourages others through her music to do the same. "I think the trials of life help us see what really matters...they essentially illuminate our dependency on Christ and make His grace and mercy taste even sweeter. My personal journey has made me realize how desperate I am for the Lord to help me every moment of every day."

The past year has flown by way too quickly and I stand in amazement with everything that Kenda McVeigh has accomplished in these twelve months.  She is a blessing to all of us, and while I understand her need to be at home for her family, she will be greatly missed.  Thank you, Kenda for all the time, love, and passion that you have poured into Women's Ministry.  The seeds you have planted this year will continue growing for many generations.  I know you will join me in continuing to pray for Kenda and Bryan, especially as he travels each week, as they guide and nurture Jacqueline and Matthew.

We are very thankful that our Pastor, Parish Relations committee has approved our request for the position of Women's Ministry Director to now be a full time position.  Many of you know and have already enjoyed working with Julie Adcock who has been serving in the part time position of Women's Ministry Coordinator since January.  These two part time positions have been combined into one full time position for the remainder of 2009.  Julie has been doing an outstanding job and we are very pleased to announce that effective June 1st she will be stepping up as the full time Director of Women's Ministry.   Julie is passionate about this ministry and the women of our church and I know you will love working with her as we do!   Please join me in letting Kenda know how much she has been appreciated this past year and in welcoming Julie to her increased responsibilities.  And don't worry; Judy McKnight continues to be a valuable member of this WM team in her part time staff position as the Renew Director!  She and Julie will be a dynamic duo!

Sheryl Steely
Family Life Minister

women's ministryI am so excited for the opportunity to continue growing spiritually and serving a church that has been so kind and faithful to me.  I have had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ since I was a child. Never has it meant more to me than now, and I'm excited about the next phase of my spiritual walk with our Father. I have been blessed with a two year old son named Aidan James and an 8 month old daughter named Isabella Grace, and they are a joy and light in my life.  I was an elementary school teacher for eight years, four of which were spent in The Woodlands.  I have such a heart for families, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Family Life Ministries.   You may have seen my name or met me in recent months, but if not I look forward to meeting and visiting with you. The women of this church can be described as nothing short of amazing.  From your kind spirit of volunteerism right down to just a wave and a smile, you have made the short time I've been here so wonderful. I can't wait to share a common vision for the Women's Ministry with you all and growing together in His love and grace.

"Satisfy My Thirsty Soul" by Linda Dillow
Thursday Evenings, June 4th - August 20th
7:00pm
Women have an innate thirst for true, genuine intimacy. Many seek to fill that void through friends. Others believe that a loving mate and the perfect marriage will permanently satisfy their need for intimacy and spiritual connection. Author Linda Dillow believes that this desire found deep within a woman is created--and can only be satisfied--by God. Dillow guides readers beyond the mere appearance of intimacy into a lifestyle of worship where every emotion, thought, and source of pain can draw women into closer communion with their heavenly Father. Additional features include practical applications for each chapter and a twelve-week devotional study that encourages readers to move from concepts into practice and establish their own lifestyle of worship. Linda is also the author of "Calm My Anxious Heart".  Contact Info:  Julie Adcock at jadcock@twumc.org
