High Holy Day Seating
We hope this summer has given you the opportunity for rest and relaxation. The High Holy Days are quickly approaching and here in the synagogue office we are working on all the logistics necessary to ensure that your High Holy Day experience is the best possible.
We want to make sure that you are aware that if you are currently sitting in the Schnurmacher Chapel or the Schafler Forum you have the option to move your seats into the Main Sanctuary for High Holy Day services. Seats in the Main Sanctuary are reserved and there are multiple seating options available.
To change your seating location to the Main Sanctuary or for additional information, please call Nadine Kochavi at 646-454-3055 or e-mail her at seating@crsnyc.org. Stop by and visit us this summer!

Erev Tisha B'av Service
Monday, August 8 at 6:00pm
Tisha B'Av (the 9th of Av) is traditionally a day of mourning and remembrance. Jewish memory recalls this as a day on which tragedy befell the Jewish people throughout our history. In facing the darkness of these memories we also clarify the world we wish to build for tomorrow. Come join Rabbi Spratt and Cantor De Lowe as we enter Tisha B'Av with both prayer and study. Together we will delve into the deeper meanings of the day, reflect on loss and tragedy, and envision a brighter future.

Memorial Plaques
The names on the six large Yahrzeit frames at the back of the synagogue's Main Sanctuary reach back into the history of the congregation as loving testimonials to the vibrant individuals who remain cherished by family and friends. In addition to being lit on your loved one's Yahrzeit, the light next to all the Memorial Plaques are lit during four yearly Yizkor services (Yom Kippur, Shemeni Atzeret/Simchat Torah, Passover, and Shavuot).
If you haven't yet arranged for a plaque for your own loved one, you must place your order by Friday, July 22 to ensure that the plaque will be installed in time for Yom Kippur. The donation for each Memorial Plaque is $3,000. For more information or to place an order, please contact Ruth Bernstein at 646-454-3051 or development@crsnyc.org. We are happy to arrange for you to spread your payment over several months, using our automatic recurring payment option, if this will be helpful to you.
