Adult Learning and Life
How I Have Changed My Mind
Rabbi Neil Gillman, Ph.D
Tuesday, March 15; 7:15pm
How an unsophisticated, young, fundamentalist rabbinical student became, some fifty years later, a professor of Jewish philosophy and a vocal advocate of a radically liberal approach to Jewish thought and practice by learning the hows and whys of being able to change his mind.
Lunch Together
Tuesday, April 5; 11:30am-1:30pm

Vayinafash: Can You Really "Re-Soul" Yourself At This Age?
If you consider yourself to be a "Baby Boomer," have you wondered what Judaism has to say about the next chapter of your life?
Rabbi Robert Levine
Friday April 8; 12:00 - 1:15pm (light lunch at 11:30am)
With All That Has Happened To Me How Could I Ever Say Thank God?
As we grow older, we experience many joys in our lives, but also struggle with crises and losses. Too often we take the good for granted and rail against our challenges. In this conversation with Rabbi Robert Levine we will discuss how to face life with a more positive perspective, so we can look at the entire landscape and be able to say THANK GOD.
Brotherhood Torah Study
Rabbi Robert N. Levine, D.D.
Tuesday, April 12; 8:00 - 9:00am
The Disappearing Jewish Man
We are proud to finally live in a generation when Jewish women can have full access to a religious and spiritual life. But many researchers have noted that with the opening of doors to women, liberal temples also experience a decline in men's participation. What does this mean for synagogue life? All congregants are invited to join us for this breakfast learning opportunity. For more information, please email brotherhood@crsnyc.org.

Are You a Member of the
Ner Tamid Society?
If you've made provisions for Rodeph Sholom in your estate planning, let us know so that we can honor your devotion by inscribing your name on the Ner Tamid Society plaque in the synagogue's lobby.
Through planned gifts such as bequests, life insurance policies, gift annuities and charitable trusts, you can help provide meaningful Jewish experiences to future generations of this Congregation. Planned gifts may also provide you with tax deductions as well as reduce estate taxes to your beneficiaries (please consult your financial advisor). For sample language for a bequest, click HERE. For more information, contact Deborah Siegel at 646-454-3050 or dsiegel@crsnyc.org.
If you would like to order a memorial plaque in time for yiskor on April 25th, please contact the Development Department immediately at 646-454-3050 or development@crsnyc.org. Click HERE for the brochure.

Volunteers Needed: Project Moving On/Women In Need
Each week, CRS volunteers help pack up cartons of food and other kitchen items-including cookware and flatware, along with books, toys and clothing, for families (usually mothers with young children) transitioning from homeless shelters into permanent apartments. A project of the Community Concerns Committee, we have been doing this for many years now; CRS helps up to 5 families a week through Project Moving On/Women in Need.
The cartons are picked up by WIN on Thursdays, so the packing must be done on Tuesday or Wednesday, but each team sets its own schedule. At the moment, we are looking for two volunteers who can work on a regular basis, every other week, helping to pack up boxes. We also need a few people willing to volunteer as back-up packers, to step in when one of the regular volunteers is unavailable.
If you are interested or have questions please call Kasy Foldes at 646-454-3043 or email her at kfoldes@crsnyc.org and leave your name, your email address, your telephone number and the best time to call you back.

Underwriting Opportunities
You may fund new initiatives or provide budget relief for costly projects so that more funds will be available for education and other activities. A donor can either totally or partially underwrite a project. Here are some current suggestions:
Confirmation Class Display - thanks to a generous contribution, we have begun the process of planning for the framing
and installation of the more than 70 Confirmation class photos that will be formally unveiled at the Confirmation ceremony on June 7, 2011. Several additional gifts are sought to fully cover the costs of this project.
Sign Language Interpreters - we would like to offer Sign Language Interpreters at Erev Shabbat services once a month. A gift of $5,000 will cover a full year's calendar of services. Please contact Deborah Siegel, Director of Development, at 646-454-3050 or dsiegel@crsnyc.org to discuss these or other underwriting opportunities.
