"Undercover Boss?"
It's a new reality show where viewers are truly amazed to witness some of the outcomes when the boss actually spends time working as an employee of the company he is running.
Recently, I took some time to step back into shoes I used to fill as a Miracle Maker. After several days of making calls to some of our families, vendors, and social workers, which is all part of the process to make Small Miracles happen for our kids, it became all too clear once again to me why we do this! It doesn't take much to bring joy and hope into these brave children's lives!!
This year we will fund nearly 400 Small Miracles, meeting the needs of the majority of children who are diagnosed or treated here in Illinois. The notes of thanks from the children, the tears from the moms . . . just helping these kids be kids. That is what Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation is all about.
Thank you for helping us make Small Miracles possible!

Sam
Sam and Grace |
Sam and his entire family were treated to a morning with Elmo and the gang at the Rosemont Theater's "Elmo's Green Thumb".
Sam was not only able to meet Elmo before the show, but he received several hugs and high fives from him as well.
Hugs from Elmo! |
Mom said, "The pictures we took show an astonished little boy! His sister, Grace, was a bit more leery at the notion of an 8 - foot Elmo standing before her!"
"Thank you so much Bear Necessities for making a little boy's dream come true!" |

On Friday, May 7th, Kathleen Casey traveled to Lafayette, LA to attend the grand opening of the "Children's Area" located in the offices of the Miles Perret Cancer Services. Founders, Hank and Debbie Perret created their organization to honor the memory and spirit of their son Jonathan Miles Perret who lost his battle with brain cancer at the age of 8. Their mission is "to serve families in Acadiana fighting and surviving cancer, with care and compassion."

In partnering with Bear Necessities, they were able to establish a safe and happy place for children to select new pediatric wigs, hats and scarves.
Thank you to Sudie Mann and Miles Perret Cancer Services for all the work you do to serve the children and their families battling pediatric cancer and allowing Bear Necessities to help more children across the country.
