| BEARTWEEN THE LINES |

As we start off the New Year I would like to pay our respects to the many children we sadly lost in 2009. Losing a child is possibly the worst experience a parent can endure, yet I am sure the families we have served who have lost their children, can join me in saying their lives were dramatically changed by witnessing the courage, strength, love and compassion their children embodied and at the same time, were able to teach so many what life is truly about.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Staff and the countless children we will help in 2010, I extend the most heartfelt thanks to the families who chose to make contributions in memory of their children at the most difficult of times. Because of these overwhelming gestures of love, hundreds of children will benefit from the programs and services Bear Necessities provides and God willing, one day a cure as well.
We feel blessed that we were able to touch these children's lives in a small way, and made lasting memories for the families whose lives are now changed forever.
Thank you to all of our donors for bringing hope and joy into these children's lives and for helping us make sure we continue to meet the needs of these very special children.
Fondly, Kathleen

FEATURED SMALL MIRACLE |

Paris

Dear Friends at Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation,
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude for making Paris' Birthday a very special day with a wonderful party at Bounce Town; a day that we will surely remember forever.
We were told early into Paris' treatment that we would be lucky if she lived until the age of two. Well, November 20th came, and Paris was still here with us. Not only was she here, but she was healthy and in wonderful spirits, and that is truly no "Small Miracle".
To have worked with your organization to make her birthday so memorable and so perfect allowed me to focus on Paris, and not stress about event planning details.
I can't say thank you enough. You really have no idea how much your acts of kindness have impacted Paris and our family.
The smile that Paris had on her face that day is forever ingrained in my mind and my heart. Thank you again for making a little girl so happy, and for creating a memory for all of us that will truly last a lifetime.
Love,
Lauren, Ralph and Paris |

| Unbridling Bacchus: Mardi Gras with Meaning

Chicago's Union Station | 6:00 PM - Midnight
Don't miss Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation's 2010 Bear Tie Ball, Unbridling Bacchus. It's Mardi Gras the way it was meant to be. An old-fashioned celebration steeped in Southern tradition, with plenty of dining, dancing, hob-nobbin' hoopla and hilarity. It's unbridled Bacchanalia at it's best. It's Mardi Gras with meaning.
