BEARTWEEN THE LINES
KCDuring this holiday season it's time for us to reflect about the blessings that have been bestowed upon us all.  I would like to personally express my gratitude on behalf of the thousands of children and their families who have been touched by our programs and services, thanks to your generosity.  It may have been a Small Miracle, family assistance, a support service grant or potentially a clinical research project that not only brought joy, but HOPE into these children and families' lives.

As we bring 2009 to a close and begin yet another new year, we also approach the tax season. Please consider a donation to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation so we can continue to provide the much needed joy and hope these children deserve.  We have never turned a child away and we won't start now!

Tis the season for giving, and Bear Necessities will make sure that every child and family in need will have the opportunity to experience the merriment of the holidays.  Let's help them to enjoy just being a kid!!!

Wishing you and yours a healthy and happy holiday season.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Kathleen

Julia

A Letter From Julia's Parents

Dear Bear Necessities,

My wife and I would like to thank Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation for the generous contributions to our family in our time of need. The gas card really helped getting us to and from the hospital and the grocery card really helped with necessities.

While recovering from surgery for Ewing's Sarcoma, Julia's spirits were lifted when a very large box from Bear Necessities arrived. The Walden Acoustic guitar, instructional books and guitar accessories were everything she dreamed of for her Small Miracle and truly lifted her spirits.

We are very proud of her as her life inexplicably changed the days after her 16th Birthday with her diagnosis of Ewing's Sarcoma. She is a great competitor and with the much appreciated boost during treatments and surgery from Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, she will beat this disease.

A special thanks to Julie Przeslicke, Music Therapist at Hope Advocate Children's Hospital and Paul at Tobias Music.
